Been there a few times.
Pretty much all over.
It's pretty far though for a get together.
Calvin country.
Yes, but there are infiltrators everywhere defending the character of God. Was pretty interesting to read newspapers from Geneva in German and what the inhabitants thought of Calvin. They hated him.

Calvin WAS French ... there is still no love lost between the French and Germans.

To this day Europeans do not like each other.
So, there were other reasons. Although C moved to Geneva and lived there, I'm sure he was never accepted by the populace. He was accepted, however, by the hierarchy of the church. He had a lot of influence.

Yes and No. They booted him out once but couldn’t keep order. So tyranny was better than bedlam.
