[__ Prayer __] mcdonald's incident :-(

ok. so, i should -not- eat fast food. but I love a mcgriddle. I stopped a mcdonald's and ordered mcgriddles. they said i had to order lunch stuff, because their new policy was no breakfast foods after 1 PM. ok, so I was feeling --hungry-- and I ordered a double quarter pounder, with cheese. i had almost perfect change, i was...honestly, hungry, so looking forward to it. lady at window said to pull to 2nd window, so i did. and i waited. and i waited. and then...

this surly lady walks over, hands a bag, i say 'thank you' she just walks away. ok, its fast food, get over it. drive away, and...

small bag of fries. and...small bun, 2 very small over cooked patties, minimal condiments (1 or 2 pickles? why?). and...

-sigh- i don't think it was just someone having a bad day. i am -not- well liked around here. i dunno. i had all those involuntary shock 'treatments,' parents didn't forgive me until sometime fairly recently, and it wasn't till after all that happened that The Lord blessed me with "recovery," as the mental health people call it, and...and...

? how am I going to live around here, long term? i can't even get a normal order filled at a local mcdonald's without static. kinda reminds me...

not too, too long ago, i rolled into a local franchise of a chain oil change place. agreed to one of those stay in your car oil changes, and...nearly $70. true story. i kinda doubt that's the going rate, because i can almost always get er done under 50.

ugh. nothing compared to jail or a hospital, real poverty...but man oh man, it makes me wonder: what's going on here, exactly? I've been saved 8 years. been in the general area for a good 10, since moving out of state for a while, and...

the animosity seems to wax and wane (weird...not a large area, but there's lots of people round here, OK?), and right now it seems to be on the upswing...also weird, because I just see my parents, live at my place, and generally keep a low profile.

ugh. i know I come here for prayer often (too often, I know...), its just...ugh. if i wasn't such an outcast, maybe I'd just buck up and deal...i have food, it'll be OK (LOL)...but given the overall nature of the situation, im kind of...worried, I guess (?).

thanks. :)

Wow. I had no idea those places charged that much. I get mine done at the dealer. About $50 for an oil change, tire rotation, car wash, fluid and battery check, plus general inspection. Plus they sometimes send a coupon for $10 less, or give me bonus points that improves some future price. Maybe if you shop around you can get a better price. Call ahead to several places to ask the price, or check their prices on the Internet.

I do have to sit around for an hour and read a book until it is done. Maybe people pay extra for the speed convenience at those quick oil change places. I've never tried one. There is quite a bit of variation between outfits. I went to a garage with a Christian owner until he moved, and enjoyed chatting with him about the Bible while there.

More than one person has noted quality control issues on store bought items since corona began. I think that some personnel are having a time of it keeping production going while trying to stay safe. One production worker more or less said the quality control department at his outfit was pretty much eliminated for the duration. Quality control may improve next summer or so.

or stipulate no inspections ,no rotate .god forbid those oil filters are so buried you, must remove covers to even see them, and then also open up the .canister.

.25 hours is all the mechanic gets ,or a tire ,gst gets ,add inspections it longer then that . I know from, experience money made on cabin filters, flushes .appointments are priority over a walk in

many shops either pay the gst hourly or flat rate ,the later isn't much .kids want easy money and well given tools you can make more in something else .old part time job started 11.50 per hour .you can make more at McD's!

I'd rather the car just get checked out. I like reading so the wait is generally pleasant. I sat in a cushiony chair in their waiting room. I figure the dealer's mechanics should be experienced working on my model of car, and know what to do.

I always make an appointment at the dealer. My car tells me when it wants maintenance.

I do it myself ,the books with the schedule of maintance can be found in pdf,or at my old job they had that info .

no I won't go 100k on plugs ,see the brilliant 5.4 trivalve for that reason

makers force you to use synthetic oil ,I love that stiff but 100 bucks a pop on some types .out of my league

Since I don't drive a lot of miles per year, it may very well be 10 plus years before I reach the recommended 100k miles for the plugs. I think Escapes have regular plugs, but its possible that 10 years could make them a bit intransigent for the dealer. I shall ponder.

Yeah but you paid for that food and they can't screw with your food like that. I would have taken the food back up to the counter and politely pointed out their mistake and ask them to make this right one way or the other. And this is not about anything except the money. You pays your dues, you gets your product. They have to make it right or risk a news crew coming down there lol. You would not have been out of line to take that food back and staple it to their forehead in a very calm and polite way. I prolly wouldn't return to that particular MickeyDees either lol.

Keep a close eye on your food Brother. You seem to be on someone's list so to speak. I'd be double checking all of my food if I were you. And then, isn't that why we ask the Lords Blessing over our food anyway?!

Thanks, Edward (and other posters, too).

I seem to have somehow made someone (I"m thinking one former counselor, in particular...but I've had shock and such, so I might have other local enemies I straight up do.not.remember, lol) -angry- , so...

yeah. yeah. Thankfully, I'm off (misdemeanor, by the grace of God) probation, 4 years now, and the conviction seems to have been sealed...in this state, that seems to mean that I'm still "a misdemeanant" (yup, there's a word for that), but its not on most background checks (housing, stuff like that). Now, if I applied for a licensed profession...yeah, good luck with that. moving on...

ramble, ramble. I mention that because some dude kept yelling about me "having felonies," "put him in jail!," etc. last night, so...ugh. I feel so badly for people w/ felony convictions who have enemies...ugh. based on how people yell out about me and at me, it seems like its awfully easy to have "convicted felon!" - individuals "put away," etc. shouldn't be that way, but...yeah.

im even more thankful that I"m -not- on a 'court order.' for those of you who don't deal with the harsh end of mental health, inc., that's when 'treatment' is mandated by a signed order. thing about that is...the sort of 'treatment' often goes beyond just "meds," it can include a curfew, restrictions on where to live, where to work, and sometimes...like with the people who get bad legal advice and go to the state hospital for convictions (NGRI--not guilty by reason of insanity) instead of probation or prison....

the 'court orders' can go on for a lifetime, well after their stint in the state hospital is over, even way, way, way beyond however much time they could have/would have spent in prison for the offense. seriously. just out of curiosity, i looked for NGRI cases on the probation and parole directory...one case, would've meant maybe 5 years in prison, max, dude was being supervised for compliance to his 'court order...'

for 25 years. :-( I felt so badly for dude man, even though I don't know him or anything.

ok. off soap box, now, just...ugh. the truth of my situation is that I received a reasonable deal, did my probation well enough to complete early, and now receive 'voluntary treatment,' which...is a godsend, because these mental health people, i swear...give an inch, they'll take a mile...

and that seems to be true of -a lot- of people around me...bullies, wanna be tyrants. I don't get it. I lived in poverty, now I don't live in real poverty. That's not me being braggy and/or snotty...I'm thankful, and I"m not "too good" for poverty, I've just been lifted out of it by Jesus and family....

but these people around me? its...irrational. I could not live here if I had been convicted of the felony I was charged with, and I -highly- doubt an NGRI (those show up background checks, in this state) would be a-OK with the HOA, not to mention whoever controls where people on NGRI-treatment live, etc. so...??? what's with this irrational bullying, now the mcdonald's incident?

rambling. -tad frustrated- , also -extremely thankful- , so...there's that, too. :) thanks, y'all.

I agree with Edward you had every right to hand it back and be given what you asked for it your money back.
I definitely would not go back there again.
Some people get pleasure out of playing tricks on others unfortunaly. I feel sure you are not the only person they have done this to.
God still has His people about. I pray you come onto contact with more of your brothers and sisters in Christ.
