Megachurches

That's TOO small. Those kinds of groups usually lack a structure of anointed leadership.
Im kind of in agreement with you. I think it works best with more than a dozen, but less than 25.

I agree. Since I am in bed so much, I also watch a good deal of Church on the TV and I pray that the packed congregation is saved even though I know better. The only, real, good I see is that, on Sunday Morning, I can be sure they will hear something of the Gospel that might touch their hearts and lead them to the cross.
Wouldn't it be great if all the saved would do that and invite the neighbors in?
Yes,that would be a great idea.

I have attended a home Church a couple of times and it was great. There really was no leader. Why does someone have to be a leader? And why would someone need to be anointed?Someone would bring a desert to share afterward.

Can you imagine this place without Reba?

Sorry those of you who responded to my response. My computer is being SO slow, I don't even want to be on it right now.

Willie T - When I see most of these leaders, I think of Jesus when he says "blind lead the blind". And when the New Testament writers warn of false prophets. But, I don't just see Megachurch leaders referred to, but also any person drawing people to themselves. Let's say, New Age gurus and Political leaders.

Hi Kathi - I just don't agree with a physical church. The body of Christ is believers with Christ as the head.

Bill - We can only pray that the message will get through, instead of self-help information or feel-good info.

I agree.Churches are not what they used to be.

What do you have against leaders?
God anointed leaders throughout the church.
Why did he do that?

I do think we have to be honest, though. Would you really attend a church where the preacher did nothing at all for you? I wouldn't. I mean, I have to find him at least a little bit inviting to listen to. But then, I may not be as spiritual as some other people.

This is true.
You may not be.
But you probably are.

When a pastor quotes the Word of God on an issue that people face in life and it feels like a stab in your stomach, it's probably the place you are suppose to be, regardless of what else goes on there.

I don't have anything against leaders. But if a person decided to attend a home Church there would not have to be a leader or someone anointed. That would not make it less of a worshipping opportunity.
All Christians are anointed 1 John 2:20;2 Corinthians 1:21-22.

I have sat through sermons where I almost fell asleep.

It depends what kind of church God is leading you to. As you need to give it to God. He is talking to you and you need to follow God's leading. In your heart. Only advice I can give to you.

If and when there's trouble it would.

Handling a group of believers who are given the freedom to interact openly is a gift. Not just anybody can do it. But pretty much anybody can deliver a speech to a group of people.

Yeah, sometimes I imagine a good hour's sleep could actually be more beneficial than absorbing some of the foolishness a lot of preachers spout.

so when you have a bunch of biblical illerate Christians that get together to learn and one of them knows the most and a doctrinal issue comes up who decides?

if you use any commentary for that you are following that man who wrote that, thus he is leading you.
