any one wonder why the election went the way it did? read it for your self. secret ballot hmmm

Which election, the one you linked to concerning the Republican minority leader? Or are you asking about the mid-term elections overall?

Why wasn't there a red wave? Because they have mistaken their movement as a sweeping wave, when in reality they are more akin to a red tide. For those who don't know what a red tide is, then Google it.

Hi jerry63935

Good for Mitch. I think he's an old curmudgeon, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I have to give him some credit for seeming to finally give up on the golden haired one. He is likely still the most powerful Republican to now be speaking some truth into all the lying that's been getting out there.

God bless,
Ted

he has clout and he also helped the democrats to much power
Hi jerry63935

Honestly, that claim sounds like someone who doesn't understand how our governmental processes work...whether one is a Republican or Democrat or Independent.

Is it really your position that our government should only be ruled by the whims and desires of one party's voting block? Should a Republican never vote to approve a Democrat initiated agenda? Is your idea of a working U.S. government one in which every vote in the legislature and senate go right down the party line and no Republican worth his salt would ever support an agenda brought to the table through a coalition of 'mostly' Democrats? That's your idea of how our government should be?

Let's make a decree for the Republicans. You are never to approve any legislative action that was instituted by a Democrat. Do you have any idea how chaotic that's going to make our governing? Why, under your understanding, it would make sense to send all of the representatives of the non-majority party home after the elections and wait for the next one to see if their party gets in control. Since no votes should ever cross party lines, at least not in the Republican representation.

BTW, I'm curious, if you've got a minute, what legislation you believe that Mitch wasn't faithful to his Republican values?

God bless,
Ted

Took less than a minute :) .

Does Mitch McConnell Still Represent the GOP?

"Does Mitch McConnell Still Represent the GOP? – Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been at loggerheads with former President Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again movement for several years now – but the Republican leader’s recent decision to vote with the Democrats on a controversial gun safety bill was described by the former president as the “last straw.”

It suggests that the GOP Senate minority leader is probably out of touch with much of the rest of the party, or that the party has moved on and left him and others like him behind."

Hi hawkman

Well, I read your rebuttal link. Not a lot there about McConnell working outside of the Republican agenda. The only complaint was that McConnell had voted for some fairly weak gun legislation, along with a number of other Republican Senators. I find it humorous that the article really doesn't say that Mr. McConnell is out of step with 'most' Republicans, but rather how out of step he has gotten with Donald Trump's agenda. Ah, well, that's going to be something that I'm going to have to give him cudos for. I think it's clear to pretty much everyone now that Donald Trump is an unconscionable liar who will literally stop at nothing to avenge himself on the American people for his embarassing drubbing in his last election, and quite frankly the mid-terms.

Trump is done! And in time the Republican party will come more in line with the desires of the majority of its people, or die. There are a lot of things that this small base of Trumpian crybabys want to do that are not in line with the overall Republican agenda. My guess is that as long as the Republican party holds up the likes of Donald Trump as their poster boy, the Democrats are going to have pretty much full charge of our governmental institutions. No one that I know wants a repeat of the last Trump administration. And that's including a lot of my Republican friends, who were at one time, dyed in the wool MAGA freaks. I think he's done and the sooner the GOP sets him outside of their circle of power, the sooner they'll get back in the game.

God bless,
Ted

lets just stop right there.. your hinting at things i never said . there is way to much power...both sides i am not a party voter. i vote for the candidate. so much of the time the republican's think they can reproduce Regan economics . he is from a different era i do not like when they mess with social security. money i paid in i do NOT like socialism nor do i think tax cuts help simply because both parties . has spend fever the democrats today support every Liberial program . look what were paying for gas at the pump. inflation is crazy. so all this goes back to power. look at Pelosi her and McConnell both. our political system is a joke . what we have is politicians controlled by special interest groups. so please dont go questioning me as in that is what i back

a repeat of the last Trump administration.
in the beginning he had good policies had he worked with his leadership team he would have done better. i give him credit for some of the things he accomplished . his biggest problem is his ego. saying that i do not want him in 2nd term . him calling out Florida Gov. telling him not to run put the icing on the cake. its we the people/voters say. Not trumps .if he escapes with out charges i will be shocked the other thing he threw pence under the bus. i don't think he ever really respected pence as v.p .

besides give the republican's party a rope they hang themselves
