We were away from home Tuesday evening. When we came back on Wednesday, we realized that one of the cats was not in the house. We figured he probably slipped out when my f-i-l came to feed them. I wasn't worried then, because this particular cat is a veteran of the fields and is a pretty smart cat. But, then he still didn't show up.
Yesterday, I tearfully told the kids that since he hadn't showed up, the chances of his ever coming home were pretty slim. I've heard coyotes close by every night, since it's full moon, and I just thought that our little BooBoo's time was up. After putting the kids to bed last night, I cried and cried.
What I didn't do was pray for the return of the kitty, because I was so sure that he was already dead.
But, Steve prayed for his safe return.
This morning when my f-i-l was out by their RV he heard someone mewing. He got his keys, opened the door and sure enough there was BooBoo. Fortunately, there was water, without any chemicals, in the toilet bowl and he was able to get the lid of the bowl up, so he was able to drink, even if there was no food. He's really thin, but otherwise perfectly OK.
I just want to give the Lord praises for the safe return of our kitty. My beloved Miranda died just a little over a year ago, and I really wasn't ready to lose another cat. I know it's only a matter of time, but I'm glad that time is later and not now.
