Mt. Kilauea has destroyed more than 600 Homes now. As bad as this eruption is, it is still only about "half" of the amount of lava which spewed from Mauna Loa in 1984.

The man who pulled the gun and started shooting above another Man's head turned out to be a convicted Felon. So he owned or had the gun illegally. His House had burned down earlier that day. My Dad just told me this story over Father's Day dinner: when he was young, the people below an active eruption were told to evacuate. They all did, except for one guy, who said that God would protect him. The lava rolled down, destroying home after home, until it came to that man's house, whereupon it split and flowed safely to either side.

The wierd thing is, my Dad is still an athiest. He doesn't believe in God, but the volcano god Pele is a different story.
