Music for Jesse

Willie thinks I need a "good music" education. lol I personally like music from 2014. haha

Whoa......were you at Woodstock?

This song is about using drugs, isn't it?

Regardless, I like it.
It was more than just about drugs.
It became a lifestyle and destroyed my youthful life.

Rollo,
I was busy in Vietnam with a large portion, most of the latter sixties but even in the military, the music was busy destroying music and people. I sent none of the drugs home but I did witness person after person ship Opium laced Mary Jane home in Film Cannisters. I was, entirely. to frightened of being a private, on the grounds, in Ft. Levenworth with an unpaid, long term enlistment.

But, as I look back, songs along the line of Country Joe's and the Fish with Be The First On Your Block... was, as I see it, the awakening of the End Time Music our young ¿enjoy? today, sad music.

Oh, wow I thought you were around 30 years old.....
Drugs are still doing that to the youth.....or they do it to themselves. Marijuana is 10x more potent than even it was in the 80's. Heroine is popular today with the suburbanite youth.

I've seen as many friends die from drugs as I've seen rock and roll stars die from drugs.
God saved me from it all in 1985.

WOW! I had no idea. You were a child of the 60's?

My Dad is killing himself with alcohol as we speak, his brother already did. I left my family and don't talk to my Dad. What a waste of life....

Pray to God that He will bring your father to the end of himself, mercifully guarding him all the way, and that He will be waiting there for him when he gets there.

Is it really bad if I do not want to pray for him?
There are other people in this world more worthy of my prayers, that's how I see it anyway.

By definition, grace is getting what you don't deserve. Everyone in Jesus Christ got there by getting what they did not deserve while they were out of Christ.

Like you, I got saved as a young adult. As each year passes by, you will experience new and different circumstances and situations in life that will challenge you and help you develop a tender understanding towards those caught in the deceitfulness of sin.

my dad wasn't much of a dad to me. I have decided to overlook that failing and forgive him. one can do that without enabling the person to hurt you again. I was able to reconcile with my granddad two years before he died. I was a fool for not listening to him but he did say what I needed to hear but in a wrong way. 20 somethings think they know a lot. they don't.

My Dad and I never got close. He died a few years back, at 92, and on the last night of our last visit, I left the room after an argument, and went to bed... highly irritated with him.

Don't you do that.

I've cried several times since then, (and I'm a 69 year-old man), just lamenting, "Why, Dad, couldn't you have simply LOVED me instead of just leaving me a ton of money?" My only real memories of him are of him chasing the almighty buck.

I lived 32 years near and around my father and never knew him.
My last visit with him in the hospital, we had nothing to say to each other, and then he wanted to go back to his room and I was glad.
A few days later he died, and I never cried over him.

A few years later I got saved and how I wished I was a new person in Christ back then.
You can never go back again.
If you have a chance to make things right, don't pass up that opportunity.
It's what God wants you to do.
For his sake and yours.

I yield to thy superior wisdom, o' wise one!:dunce
Oh Bill, by the way, Jethro is older than both of us, at least with looks.

Who's who?

Well, do you have kids? Due to the kind of relationship you had with your dad, did you deliberately try to have a better relationship with your kids?

Yes, the time I had, I think I made it good.
