Well, that was weird.
I read your title - one who has the power to save the innocent - and think to myself that Jesus didn't die for the innocent, but for the wicked and guilty. His power to save extended beyond the innocent, including those who didn't deserve saving: all of humanity. "There is none righteous, no, not one," the Bible says (Romans 3:10, 23). Not a single human has ever been truly innocent (except those who died in infancy). And yet, God still "took on flesh" and died to save those who hated Him, "becoming sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:6-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21). Now THAT'S heroic.
