But Mary’s divine Maternity has positively made her the fountain-head of grace in its entirety.

For she presented to the world the Author of Grace, Christ, and to Him the instrument of grace, His Sacred Humanity.

If, as Bossuet argues from St. Paul, “The gifts of God are without regret”, Rom 9:29 we may safely conclude that he who started the whole work of grace through Mary will not continue or complete it without her.

This is how that celebrated preacher and theologian sums up the Catholic tradition: “God willed to give us Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin Mary, and since God is faithful in His gifts, this order does not change. It is and always will be true that having received the universal principle of grace through her charity, we now receive, through her mediation, its various applications in all the different states of Christian life.

St. Bonaventure agrees: “As wax melts before fire, so do the devils lose their power against those souls who remember the name of Mary and devoutly invoke it.”

Consoling indeed are the promises of help made by Jesus Christ to those who have devotion to the name of Mary; for one day in the hearing of St. Bridget, He promised His most holy Mother that He would grant three special graces to those who invoke that holy name with confidence: first, that He would grant them perfect sorrow for their sins; secondly, that their crimes should be atoned for; and, thirdly, that He would give them strength to attain perfection, and at length the glory of paradise. And then our Divine Savior added: "For thy words, O My Mother, are so sweet and agreeable to Me, that I cannot deny what thou askest."

St. Ephrem goes so far as to say, "that the name of Mary is the key of the gates of heaven," in the hands of those who devoutly invoke it. And thus it is not without reason that St. Bonaventure says "that Mary is the salvation of all who call upon her." "O most sweet name! O Mary, what must thou thyself be, since thy name alone is thus amiable and gracious," exclaims Blessed Henry Suso.

Let us, therefore, always take advantage of the beautiful advice given us by St. Bernard, in these words: "In dangers, in perplexities, in doubtful cases, think of Mary, call on Mary; let her not leave thy lips; let her not depart from thy heart."
Names of Jesus and Mary
In every danger of forfeiting divine grace, we should think of Mary, and invoke her name, together with that of Jesus; FOR THESE TWO NAMES ALWAYS GO TOGETHER. O, then, never let us permit these two most sweet names to leave our hearts, or be off our lips; for they will give us strength not only not to yield, but to conquer all our temptations.

Thus we see that the most holy name of Mary is sweet indeed to her clients during life, on account of the very great graces that she obtains for them. But sweeter still will it be to them in death, on account of the tranquil and holy end that it will insure them.

Let us then, O devout reader, beg God to grant us, that at death the name of Mary may be the last word on our lips.

This was the prayer of St. Germanus: "May the last movement of my tongue be to pronounce the name of the Mother of God;" O sweet, O safe is that death which is accompanied and protected by so saying a name; for God only grants the grace of invoking it to those whom He is about to save. Amen!

Father Sertorius Caputo, of the Society of Jesus, exhorted all who assist the dying frequently to pronounce the name of Mary; for this name of life and hope, when repeated at the hour of death, suffices to put the devils to flight, and to comfort such persons in their sufferings.

St. Camillus de Lellis urged the members of his community to remind the dying often to utter the holy names of Jesus and Mary. Such was his custom when assisting people in their last hour.

Oh, that we may end our lives as did the Capuchin Father, Fulgentius of Ascoli, who expired singing, "O Mary, O Mary, the most beautiful of creatures! let us depart together."

Let us conclude with the tender prayer of St. Bonaventure: "I ask thee, O Mary, for the glory of thy name, to come and meet my soul when it is departing from this world, and to take it in thine arms."

…and show unto us oh blessed virgin Mary the fruit of thy womb, Jesus! Amen!

"
And in the ten commandments, we are not to make or bow before images.

We are to worship God only, that includes Jesus, we are to pray to God only as Jesus said, When you pray say "Our Father". Nowhere in scripture is prayer authorised to anyone other than God.

Images are not forbidden! 2nd council of nicea 7th cent.
Veneration, Homage, Honour, Esteem, Devotion, Bowing or kneeling alone is not worship! Worship requires intent to perform the act of worship!

We must never separate Jesus from Mary: we can go to Him only through her . . . Without Mary, we shall never find Jesus. Whoever would say "I have no need of Mary" would be guilty of blasphemy! Our eternal salvation is at stake, and we are bound to honor her as the Mother of God and our Mother.

No, I said the OBJECT OF the Icon is worshipped. I had made the distinction between the Icon of the Lord and the Icons of any Saint. We VENERATE the Saints by contemplation of their Icons. The OBJECT (the Saint themself) of the Icon is NOT worshipped. In a MYSTICAL MANNER this contemplation is COMMUNION with the Saints. With Christ, however, He is not a Saint; He is the Lord Himself. Thus, the OBJECT of His Icon (He Himself) IS worshipped.

An Ecumenical Council is guided by the Holy Spirit. It is Ecumenical Council which gave you the very Scriptures you reference.
I do not understand this sort of thing out of Protestants. It is one thing when a Protestant is ignorant of the History of the Church; but when presented with the plain facts, I don't understand why you do not conform your thoughts and beliefs to the clear Will and Providence of God.
It is a FACT that the Lord guided the Holy Church to PRESERVE AUTHENTIC SCRIPTURE. It is a FACT that He also guided the Church to PRESERVE CORRECT DOCTRINE both Scriptural AND ORAL.
Furthermore, within Scripture itself, there is given the account of the FIRST HOLY COUNCIL of the Church which has ever served as the template for any other Holy Council and that is in Acts 15 wherein the Apostles gathered together to make a ruling concerning whether or not the Gentiles had to follow the Law once they became Christian.

As for Mary, being Orthodox, we differ somewhat on various titles of Mary. As far as I know our only title is "Theotokos" which means simply, God-Bearer. We do not use "Queen of Heaven" etc...but we do not judge our brother over it.
