Out the Door

As they move our offices from Atlanta to Dallas, I walk out the door for the last time in a few minutes. I'll be working at home and doing some business travel till I move in July.

End of an era - odd seeing the place a mess like this....

It sure is a new chapter. With so many techs and engineers (as well as our international sales manager) leaving, my role at work will change a bit. My department is temporarily going from the boss and three of us to the boss and myself.

Added to that:
We acquired an Italian company a few months ago and integrating their products into our product line spells some interesting days ahead.

My first day working at home. Knowing that this will go on till July, gotta say I don't like it.
I know many people work at home, day in and day out - but I don't like it. I'm way more social than I think of myself as being. :)

I work from home a day or two a week. Funny thing is I look forward to it all the time, but by the end of the day I just feel confined and tightly wound. When I go in the office, I'm on the road by 5:00am. It's nice on days when I don't have to do that, but there something to be said for getting out and about. Some people will never be satisfied.

I've always thought it would be nice to live in Texas. One thing I've always appreciated is the way people from Texas are so proud of being Texans. You don't often see that kind of pride in where you live. I'm sure great things are in store for you, Pizza!

If I worked from home the pros would be that I would save gas, I could sleep an hour longer everyday, and I would not lose an hour a day driving to work. I mean add that up over a year thats like over 300 hours a year I wouldnt waste in life just sitting in a vehicle going to and from work.

I know the feeling! Boy do I know the feeling!
You're going to do great at your new home. Besides, you can work in your pj's now!

I like working at home when I know its "just a day to work at home". But this idea that I'm going to work at home till July bugs me. I'm more social than I thought I was.

I think Texas will be a mix of blessings and headaches - but I look forward to it. Change can be good.

If it's any consolation, I moved from Washington State to Michigan 21 years ago... I've had several promotions in the past 4 years where I've relocated to new groups.
Enjoy that nice Texas weather!

Spelling shouldn't be too hard, Italian is almost just like English, you just take the last "a" off of everything

Lol
