Bible Study Paul and the big 3.

When a believer leaves the bottle and wants to start the real walk of God's will, they will always be led to the Apostle Paul and his epistles.

In the secular world, you hear this phrase...."he's the man".....and so it is within the epistles within the New Testament as well as with the Apostles....."Paul is the man".

Now here are 3 things that separate and elevate the Apostle Paul as the greatest Christian who ever lived, (Other then Jesus of course:).

To begin with, everything that needs to be understood about Salvation, the Atonement, Grace in general and Grace through Faith, and Redemption, is taught by Paul.
When you are hungry for some theological mastery, you will FIRST want to deeply deeply understand how you are saved, why you are saved, what you are saved from, and exactly what Salvation is all about. So, you go directly to the epistles of Paul for LIGHT, as no other Apostle teaches the Gospel of Salvation as we understand it as the Grace of God.
This is all Paul, and no other Apostle has this revelation directly from Jesus himself.
Remember that revelation is light, and its cumulative over time, and its generated and activated by starting at the source, and Paul is the Key biblical source.
From Paul you get all the doctrinal building blocks of Light, and you have to master those first, to then be given more and more.
Romans, Galatians, Ephesian, Colossians, and then 1st and 2nd Timothy.
Thats where you live that leads you where you need to go.
Those Pauline epistles are first and necessary keys of light that will light you way through the bible and give you Light for Life.

So here is #1...

Paul and Paul alone is the only Apostle who Jesus personally revealed "Grace" and the "Atonement".
Jesus literally took Paul into the wilderness and explained the principles of Grace, the Atonement, and of "Justification by faith".
Jesus did this with no other Apostle, and this is why if you read James, or Mark, or Matthew or Jude, or John, you will never find them explaining to you what Grace is all about....or what Justification by Faith is all about, or what the "imputed righteousness of Christ" is all about, or what it means to be "in Christ"... as these are all "Pauline" doctrinal NT principals that describe the redemption process, and no other writer in the NT explains them or teaches them as doctrine in any sort of depth, tho 1 John 5 has John teaching some Pauline theology regarding eternal life.
So, if you want to know about Salvation, then you dont go to Act 2:38 or James.....You go to Paul's epistles, as its Paul alone whom Jesus revealed the inner workings of the Grace of God as doctrine that we understand regarding "faith" and "Grace" and "redemption".

So, to understand the Grace of God that saved you, and how the Blood Atonement works for you, you go directly to Paul who got the instructions directly from Jesus......and no other Apostle did.

#2.....

There is only one Apostle in the NT who told you this...
"Follow ME, as i follow Christ"".....1 Corinthians 11:1
So, that is not a verse that most Christians have realized.
But you are told by Paul to follow HIM., as He followed Christ.
That means in doctrine, and in deeds, and in lifestyle.
Your NT does not tell you to "follow" any other Apostle.
Only Paul tells you to follow him, in your New Testament.
There is a reason for this......(see #1)

#3.

When the apostles walked the earth, there was no New Testament.
All they had was the Torah in Hebrew.
They only had the Old Testament to read and study.
So, this was to a Jew not only THE Holy book, but it was mystical and Truth, as its the Word of God.
So, in 2 Peter 3:16, you are told by Peter that Paul's letters are equal to the Torah, equal to the Word of God.
3:16- """Paul's letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other SCRIPTURES".

So, do you see this?
Peter has just stated that the Torah and Paul's letters are equal.
notice....."as they do THE OTHER Scriptures".

So, here you have an Apostle who recognizes Paul's writings to be in his very day, equal to the Torah. (Old Testament).
Thats a WOW !

Paul wrote most of the New Testament.
When it comes to Doctrine for the Church, and Light for you to find and thereby grow in Grace and knowledge and Love, you'll find what shines the brightest to help you during your Spiritual quest in Paul's epistles.

I agree that Paul's writings give the best understanding of grace, faith, and redemption, but if his writings are not received through the Holy Spirit's guidance, then people will distort what he truly taught. That is why doctrines such as "all grace, no law" and "all faith, no works" exist in the church today. Are we truly learning from Paul's writings or are we learning from "ignorant and unstable people" that distort his writings?

Jesus is 'The Man'. Paul was kept in his place by a thorn, lest he begin to think he was 'the man'.

Mat 10:24 - The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
