So, my steel toed work shoes are two years old now. I mostly wear them for work. (I'm always in a Nuclear Power Plant, a mine, an electrical substation or a steel mill - so I just wear safety shoes all the time.)
But I also, since I travel so much, tend to wear them on short (2 to 6 mile) hikes when on the road, so theyv'e been wet at times and have had insect repellant sprayed on them quite often.
They LOOK like "Nike" athletic ("gym") shoes, but are real steel toed shoes meeting all the ANSI standards.
The company usually tells us once a year to buy a new pair and submit for reimbursement - but last year I bought DRESS safety shoes (never wear them) and kept these. So you see, they ARE two years old.
So, why tell you all this? It's so you can picture them accurately. And now, you are fully informed and have a chance at:
GUESSING WHAT THEY SMELL LIKE!
Please note that my FEET DO NOT SMELL BAD, it's just the shoes....
