Well here is what the judge did .

"A Calgary judge says he is sparing a pastor, his brother and a café owner jail time for violating COVID-19 rules because he doesn’t want the men to cash in on notoriety with more time behind bars.

Justice Adam Germain ruled Wednesday that Pastor Artur Pawlowski and his brother Dawid Pawlowski must pay stiff fines and Alberta Health Services costs because they would like nothing better than to become martyrs in jail.

AHS had recommended 21 days’ jail for the pastor and 10 days for his brother. But Germain opted for a $23,000 fine for Artur Pawlowski and $10,000 for Dawid Pawlowski. The brothers will also have to pay $15,733 in costs, and the pastor an additional $4,758.

Artur Pawlowski must also serve 18 months’ probation and Dawid Pawlowski 10 months’ probation, which prevents them from leaving Alberta."

Glad they were spared jail. The fines are a bit steep though.
Still going to pray that they cope with it all, and get help with fines.

I think I would use the term " free speech" loosely :crying .

" "In the written decision released Friday, Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Adam Germain mandated that “when [Pawlowski] is exercising his right of free speech and speaking against [Alberta Health Services] Health Orders and AHS health recommendations in a public gathering or public forum (including electronic social media),” he must issue an addendum.

“I am aware that the views I am expressing to you on this occasion may not be views held by the majority of medical experts in Alberta. While I may disagree with them, I am obliged to inform you that the majority of medical experts favor social distancing, mask-wearing, and avoiding large crowds to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” the addendum reads in part.

“Most medical experts also support participation in a vaccination program unless for a valid religious or medical reason you cannot be vaccinated. Vaccinations have been shown statistically to save lives and to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms.” "

Canadian Pastor Artur Pawlowski's court hearing is coming up 10/13 and he needs our prayers .

Going to jail for keeping his church doors open ? Is this the world we now live in ?

Canadian pastor arrested at airport warns Americans: 'You're next'
Just some clarity. He was not arrested for keeping his church open. He repeatedly refused to follow the health regulations in holding his services. He was then found in contempt of court and that is why he was arrested. The vast majority of churches that decided to keep their doors open had no issue because they followed the health measures.

This is absolutely not a case of persecution, as Artur and the media like to make it seem. It’s Romans 13:1-7 in action.

I absolutely agree with your assessment. I am also Canadian and have no sympathy for these men who chose to
take their 15 minutes of fame by simply breaking the law... The issue with the churches were LARGE CROWDS.
This was not persecution... and had they followed the law... there would NOT have been any fines or jail time.

All venues with large gatherings were affected by the pandemic... to state that CHRISTIANS were being persecuted is simply a lie.... WE have ALL been inconvenienced.

What is happening NOW... with the forced mandates of getting the vaccines.... now that is a whole different ballgame.
