Reformation questions?

How can truth be reformed?

Where does scripture authorize man to have a reformation?

How could the church founded by God (Jesus Christ) Matt 16:18 with the guarantee of God (the Holy Spirit) Jn 16:13 lose its chief truth and doctrine?

Where does the Bible say sola scriptura?

Where does scripture give authority to protest the church founded by God? (Jesus Christ) Matt 16:18

No new doctrine or public revelation the five solas are innovation and 16th century novelties which the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church never taught, but has condemned as error.

Not one of the so called reformers was an apostles having authority from Christ, why listen to them.

No one has authority to reject Christ and his church and start new churches, why have anything to do with those whose sects and doctrines are the tradition of men?

Where does scripture give you authority to reject or protest the church of Jesus Christ or the truths (doctrine) He has revealed?

How can truth be reformed?
It can't. What's your point?

Where does scripture authorize man to have a reformation?
Non-sequetor. The Bible doesn't speak about brushing one's teeth either which is another non-sequetor.

The reformation was started because the Roman Catholic church departed from truth; they created their own truth setting up men as the final say over God's word and the anathema of works salvation. The Reformation was attempt to get back to the truth which is God's word as found in the Bible only and not coming from self-appointed men.

The Protestant Reformation was a widespread theological revolt in Europe against the abuses and totalitarian control of the Roman Catholic Church. Reformers such as Martin Luther in Germany, Ulrich Zwingli in Switzerland, and John Calvin in France protested various unbiblical practices of the Catholic Church and promoted a return to sound biblical doctrine.

How could the church founded by God (Jesus Christ) Matt 16:18 with the guarantee of God (the Holy Spirit) Jn 16:13 lose its chief truth and doctrine?
THe R.C. church lost "truth" by the establishment of the R.C. Church setting itself up as having authority over the Bible/God's Word ...
The magisterium of Roman Catholicism is the special teaching authority of the Church itself. According to Catholic doctrines, this teaching authority resides only within the Pope and Catholic bishops. This implies that only those doctrinal statements that proceed from the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) can be true. It also means that, at times, the teaching authority of the RCC is uniquely free from error, a property called “infallibility.” https://www.gotquestions.org/magisterium.html

Where does the Bible say sola scriptura?
It is taught by the apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 4:6 I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

The reformation stressed the term because the R.C.s went "beyond what was written" in scripture inventing their own doctrines: prayer to saints and/or Mary, the immaculate conception, transubstantiation (making God parts from bread and water), indulgences, and papal authority, purgatory, etc.

Not one of the so called reformers was an apostles having authority from Christ, why listen to them.
Because they followed God's written word given to apostles by God instead of adding to God Word like the R.C.s did.

No one has authority to reject Christ and his church and start new churches,
The R.C. did. Added all sorts of heresies and proclaimed themselves to be in authority. (Authoritarianism)

why have anything to do with those whose sects and doctrines are the tradition of men?
The R.C. church values "tradition" of men on equal par with scripture. Scripture and tradition are subject to the magisterium which is run by men.

When you understand the idolatry of the mass, that propitiatory sacrifice of Christ can never save anyone, the treasury of merit, indulgences, the excess merit of Mary, purgatory, that one righteousness consists of that of Christ, Mary, the saints and oneself, sacraments, that the priest is another Christ … then one does not have the gospel of that leads to salvation. James White, See Galatians 1:6-9

“Are Catholics who adhere to official Roman Catholic beliefs and practices saved?” The answer to this question is “no.” Why? Because the official teaching of Roman Catholicism is that salvation is not by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that one must have good works and observe the rituals of Roman Catholicism in order to be saved. https://www.gotquestions.org/are-Catholics-saved.html

Sir, this may come as a shock to you, but Protestant and Catholic are man made names, that refer to man made religion.

I for one have never been Catholic, and have never protested anything.

On the other hand I personally don’t believe the scriptures need to be reformed.

Here is what Jesus said —

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32

again

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

If a person does not remain in the teachings of Jesus Christ, they don’t have God.

He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:12

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
John 3:36

It’s your choice to believe the words of Jesus Christ and His apostles written in scripture, or you can believe what Catholicism teaches.

Christ and His church are one! Acts 9:4
Same authority Jn 20:21
An attack on the church or her doctrine is an attack on Christ who founded the church!

Reformed theology is reformed truth!

And truth is divine and immutable!

Can you be saved without a priest?

True enough for the most part, but the statement lacks a definition of "church".
I define "church" (sometimes referred to a the invisible church) as those IN CHRIST
R.C.s, and therefore you IMO, define "church" as the man-made religion based on Men, tradition and scripture (probably including the apocrypha.
An attack on God's scripture is an attack on God. An attack on the R.C. Church's doctrine is to guide others back to sola scriptura/truth.

Reformed theology is reformed truth!
I would argue that it's man's attempt to return to the truth based on scripture which the R.C. church departed from.

Can you be saved without a priest?
One is saved by the High Priest only (Christ) by scripture. Any other intercessor is an idol set up by man.

The church must be catholic (universal) according to scripture
Jn 1:29 Jn 3:16 etc

How do we know we have the doctrine of Christ?
Bible alone? Or the teach authority of Christ in his church by the apostles Matt 28:19 Lk 1:4 Jn 20:21 acts 2:42

There is no Catholic church in scripture.

There is no such word as sacraments in scripture.

There is no Protestant church in scripture.

His apostles have given us the New Testament scriptures.

So if you pray and intercede for me you are an idol?

What did Thomas or Nathaniel write?

Do you believe the Bible is the sole authority?

If so I guess you can’t believe in the reformation cos it’s not in the Bible. No authority from Christ!
