zoom in to see the robot caddy ,it can be controlled by a romote command or ordered to follow by its own sensory ,which I have seen both ,both times at this location .it will stop and adjust its self to be where it should 0303211313.jpg0303211313.jpg

I have been getting the route often ,I took my photo from where I was reading. a meter ,it crossed in,front of me .

Absolutely. Helper robots would be great for the elderly. Japan is building a demonstration city where elderly are helped by robots where practical.

my issue is how cheap we build with robots and electronics .we push recycling and have priced the idea of soldering and fixing the appliance out the mind .makes no sense

Inflation has made hiring someone to fix appliances super costly. Most people can't afford it. Those who can fix things themselves can still fix them.

We could use an honest currency, and free market capitalism to make things affordable again.

Neat idea. The technology of self-driving cars would probably be useful to make this even more adaptable.

Reminds me of something that happened many years ago. I and my youngest daughter used to go food shopping for her Mom. She liked to sit in the bottom rack of the cart and pull it along with her feet. Which was fine with me. We were at the freezer case and as I'd move along, she would follow. I'd use hand signals for her to come forward or stop. Then I looked across the case to the other aisle. A woman was staring at me.

She could see the cart moving with my direction, but she couldn't see Meagan on the lower shelf.

It's a hard thing. Chips and ICs are so cheap that it's easier and less expensive to replace them. Recycling solid-state materials is becoming a major business.

The "right to repair" movement will probably result in some laws, requiring repairability for some devices:

Probably worth your time to look at, Jason. Sounds like your kind of group.

so is simply replacing a starter on cars ,three hours on some .
over seas I have paid to repair a.c. to dc inverters .rewound in two hours for less then 10 dollars

I just hate the idea of being forced to update and buy new things when often its not needed
.

I have a young lady who has a 06 Nissan sentry ,it has minor issues but she would have to trash it if she paid a shop to fix .

it needs shocks and a cv axle and motor mounts . her shocks will cost her nearly half of the price of the car if a shop does it .
