Rotator Cuff Surgery

Well, you can wrestle with seniors in Grand Rapids this summer at the Meijer State games!

And yes, bridge if you find yourself on your back!
Or find a bjj club and that moves slower then Greco-Roman Roman wrestling. It's not about pinning but submission via chokes or joint attacks.

Hope it goes well Mike, praying for you, in case I don't get back before your surgery.
I ordered Cod Liver oil Fermented. I heard so much about it on YouTube noticed it says on the bottle improves recovery time, decreases inflammation, and reduces risk of joint, tissue and tendon injuries.

I didn't even know cod had livers. :)

Thank you so much for your prayers. That was very kind of you to drop this message. Six days til the surgery. I'll be back before then, but I don't know about after for a while. I won't be able to attend our Good Friday or Easter services, which are the highlights of the year for me, but I'll have plenty of time alone with my Lord.

Plot twist! I just got a call from my surgeon's office, the day before my surgery. He came down with a bad flu, and we have to reschedule. Unbelievable. Of course this would happen to me. Got myself all psyched up for NASA to call off the launch during the count down. Hopefully, I'll know tomorrow morning when we can do this after she talks to him and knows when he can. She expects a week or two.

Seriously, I was devastated when I got the call. Not only the psyche aspect of mentally preparing myself and ramping that up, but all the preparation I did at work to record everywhere I am with projects, notifying contacts at other companies how to get help when I'm gone... I'll have to go thru all this again. This was hard to take today. Talk about an emotional roller-coaster. :wall

Mike,
I had a scheduled surgery once. (the other two times it was an emergency)
About a little over a month away.
I got the flu. It wouldn't go away. I got worried and went to my surgeon and GP and they sent me to an internist.

Get this. He said I was so worried about the surgery that it was making me have these flu-like symptoms. I had no flu! So they scheduled the operation ASAP so I could calm down.

It makes me laugh to this day, but it wasn't so funny back then. I was a nervous wreck.
So I know how you feel - really I do.

Look at the bright side...you can't mow the lawn. It must count for something...
:yes

Since I know that everyone is anxious for an update :wink I'll quell the crowd.

It's been 12 days since my surgery on April 27th, and I'm past the initial pain. To be honest, it wasn't nearly as bad as I was convinced it would be. People who had it made it sound like one of the worst procedures to have, but I believe my second ACL reconstructions (knee) was worse. At least I have been able to move about the house with my gimpy shoulder. Not so easy with the knee.

At this point, the battle will be self control. I have to avoid using my arm the way I think I can. Keep it immobile so I don't disrupt the delicate mending of muscle to ligament to bone. It's a bit misleading to be out of pain. I think it's more stable than it actually is. I was talking to a fellow who had this done in December and re-tore it because he made this mistake.

There now. I know everyone is relieved to hear from me again.

(Go away, Mike! We don't care! Stop talking about things we don't care about! Get over yourself!) :lol

Hi Mike,
You're a smart guy.
People don't feel pain and act accordingly --- mistake!
So you're right. Make believe it hurts and don't use the arm.

I had a problem with my shoulder and pain down the arm for over a year.
I was sent to therapy. The therapist said to go slow and not use it a lot and that I shouldn't feel any pain.

And was it any wonder? I finally went to have a sono (already had x-ray) to a very good radiologist who advised me to STOP USING my arm and that it would be better. I trust him, so I stopped using it, and guess what?

Right.

Now I'm fine. But I try not to do heavy work.
:approve
