All end time discussions, scripturally speaking, are about thee end of Satan and his messengers. Pardon the bold and colors, but I love this particular subject.
Mystery Babylon and destruction of same is exactly about that subject matter, the matters of the destruction of Satan.
Rev. 17:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Many believers look in fear upon the "end times" presentations. It is actually [and should be looked forward to, as] a time of great rejoicing, because it really is about the destruction of the internal enemies of the people, the enemies who have captured the "entire" or whole earth," internally.
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
And some will dread how this destruction shall come. As Jesus noted, it will be "like" the days of Noah (Matt. 24:37.) Where we see "like" that means "not quite the same." I might even observe it to be in the inverse sense, the good sense, as noted here by Isaiah, and therefore believers are NOT TO FEAR, because these below are the waters of Noah that destroy the devil, Satan, and his messengers. And you, as believers, will be the carriers of said destruction:

So, be prepared. GARB UP! Look UP! The waters of Satan's destruction are PURE and from ABOVE and will DECEND upon believers first! That is the "flood" that will destroy the enemies.

This is The Revelation or the Revealing of Christ IN YOU. The Maker you are preparing to meet is already IN YOUR TEMPLE, and will come out QUICKLY. The first place of attack of the enemies will be IN YOU. Judgment always begins first in the "house of God." [1 Peter 4:17] It is "we" who stand in life first for "tribulations" [Acts 14:22] and "chastisements." [Hebrews 12:8]
This is the "time of Jacob's trouble." Jacob did not come before his father as a liar and a thief without INTERNAL CAUSE! And when he did, HE WAS BLESSED by God. If you say you are not afflicted, I might remind every believer that we all have sin [1 John 1:8] and sin is of the DEVIL [1 John 3:8]. So do the math or be blinded by the cause. It matters not either way. Every believer will see soon enough, either at the end or their departure from this place.
The "time of Jacobs trouble" will be a dividing away of the liar and the thief from "within." And it is TROUBLE for THEM.
When all 7 churches of the Revelation were addressed by The Spirit, the works of Satan were addressed in ALL of them. The only question is, DO YOU HEAR that part?
Satan and his messengers will fear, in YOU. The TABLES will be turned in YOUR behalf. Not as it has been from the beginning, but the other way around. This is the message of HOPE to you and FEAR to them.
Psalm 149:9
To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.
Thee end will come in a flood of tears, and those tears will be turned into complete JOY, in the twinkling of an eye. The "beheading" will NOT be seen in the "external sense," but the INTERNAL sense. And none will "see" it coming until the LIGHT of the ANGEL lights up "the whole earth," which is your BODY. May you hold fast your HOPE, to their ending.
To bear and hear the TWO EDGED SWORD means to first apply it to your SELF. It was with this FLAMING SWORD from His Mouth [Rev. 1:16], that Jesus swung through the 7 churches of Rev. Upholding ONE and putting DOWN, the other.
I might hope you see that one edge is for you, the other, against.

There is power and authority in the blood of Lord Jesus Christ! As Believers, we can boldly proclaim that we have a blood-bought right to be free of bondage, whether that bondage comes in the form of sickness, financial problems, relationship issues, confusion, or stress. Jesus’ shed blood purchased our deliverance from the works of Satan.

The true power of the cross: When Jesus was beaten, tormented, scourged, and nailed to the cross, blood poured from His back, head, hands, and feet; and He was also pierced in His side. Each place from which His blood flowed is significant because it represents a unique aspect of our deliverance.
o His back, which endured the stripes needed to bring about our healing...and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5)
o His head, which bore the crown of thorns. The blood that flowed from His head served as payment for our deliverance from every curse...When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, all of mankind was cursed (Genesis 3:17-18).
o His hands, which were nailed to the cross...When Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, he caused a curse to come upon all mankind, as well as the ground (Genesis 3:17, 18).
The hands are a symbol of our economic strength and capability (Genesis 43:12). God blesses the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 28:8-12, Deuteronomy 12:7, 8). The blood that flowed from His hands signified our freedom from the curse of poverty. The blood flow also released the blessing of abundant life upon Believers.
o His feet, which were nailed to the cross...“I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15).
God established a plan that would ultimately restore the dominion back to mankind. God said that a woman would give birth to a child that would defeat Satan. When Jesus was born, the prophecy was fulfilled. He was born from a woman, defeated Satan, and took the authority from him. Jesus made a way for us to have our sins forgiven and to have eternal life (Colossians 2:13-15, Hebrews 2:14, 15). Jesus returned our dominion and authority back to us (Luke 10:1-19)Jesus shed His precious blood from His feet when He was crucified, giving us dominion over Satan. As His feet were brutally nailed to the cross, a prophetic Word from God was coming to pass. Jesus ultimately defeated Satan and took back the dominion God had given mankind in the Garden of Eden.
o His side, which was pierced by a Roman soldier...Thousands of years ago, prophetic messages recorded in the Old Testament gave details of the crucifixion and how Jesus’ blood would be shed (John 19:32-37).
The prophet Zechariah prophesied the “fountain” from which we would be cleansed (Zechariah 13:1). That fountain is referring to the blood and water that flowed from Jesus’ side. Exodus 12:46 prophesied that Jesus’ legs would not be broken during the crucifixion.
The soldiers broke the legs of those who were being crucified to speed up their death.
However, Jesus had already died so there was no need to break His legs.

According to the Bible, living the overcoming, victorious Christian life involves having faith in the finish works of Lord Jesus Christ blood sacrifice and testifying (confessing) to what the Word of God and the Blood of Jesus has done and is doing for me now. The Blood of Jesus is the Blood of the new covenant which has been shed for me. (Luke 22:20)
The Blood of Jesus is the Blood of the everlasting covenant which is in force for me for all eternity. (Hebrews 13:20)
The life is in the Blood of Jesus, therefore the very life of God lives in my spirit and flows into my soul (mind, will and emotions) and into my physical body. (Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 17:11)
Through faith in the Blood of Jesus I have been redeemed, bought from the hand of the enemy.
Therefore I am no longer in the kingdom of darkness but through the Blood I have been translated into the Kingdom of God's dear Son. (Colossians 1:13-14; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:18-19; Acts 20:28; Hebrews 9:12)

Many examples from the Bible show the relationship between the Blood of Jesus and a particular benefit such as redemption, forgiveness of sins, cleansing, sanctification, healing and prosperity. When I plead the Blood, it is a valid, scriptural expression of my faith in that Blood. I will testify to the power of the Blood and the Word of God, thereby robbing Satan of his power to defeat me. I will say boldly and confidently: "Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you. I hold the blood against you and declare on the authority of God's Word that Jesus' Blood does now overcome you, sin, every sickness, disease, pain, lack, poverty and every evil work. Flee Now in Jesus' Name!"

Many examples from the Bible show the relationship between the Blood of Jesus and a particular benefit such as redemption, forgiveness of sins, cleansing, sanctification, healing and prosperity. When I plead the Blood, it is a valid, scriptural expression of my faith in that Blood. I will testify to the power of the Blood and the Word of God, thereby robbing Satan of his power to defeat me. I will say boldly and confidently: "Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you. I hold the blood against you and declare on the authority of God's Word that Jesus' Blood does now overcome you, sin, every sickness, disease, pain, lack, poverty and every evil work. Flee Now in Jesus' Name!"

Agreed. I recently read a book from CS Lewis called "the Screwtape letters" about a senior demon writing to his student on the various ways in which the devils use for influencing humans. It was quite good. You may want to have a look at it.
