How often everyone gets tossed into the same Christian melting pot.

What of those who walk in the Spirit of love and forgiveness? Why are they thrown in the pot?

It is a very common tactic to simply lump all together, attach a label and say it is so.

Christianity's inability to affirm what the very word they profess to be from God clearly states is the root of all their troubles. It is the cause of their double mindedness.

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

They cannot answer simply yes and agree with this scripture, nor similar ones because they are under the delusion that they have free will. They do not believe that God is sovereign in all things. Therefore they do not trust God as they should, or seek His will.

They are every bit as much in the desert as the Israelites were for 40 years.

Whether you believe in the validity of this scripture or the dozens of others that proclaim God as sovereign, it is the cause of the majority of strife and division.

It is what separates Christianity from those that follow Christ, give Him their hearts, believe in Him and the One who sent Him, believe God's word, obey it and are walking in love, forgiveness, and faith.

They are definitely the minority.

They know God is all things and controls all things.

They know everything is being worked out for their very best. Just like God's word says.

They trust God. No matter what their circumstances.

They are those that have peace beyond all understanding.

They understand that everything that is happening in this world is from God.

From the greatest evil will come the greatest good. Our suffering is very temporary compared to all eternity.

Because God has enabled them to walk by faith.

Free will is Satan’s greatest delusion.

It's like this, every life is Creator designed from beginning to end. Every single detail. There is no such thing as luck, random chance, etc. It is all happening exactly according to God's will. Yes He is that awesome. God is sovereign!

Suppose a person goes to a restaurant, sits down, has a meal, dessert menu comes along. There is apple pie and blueberry pie to "choose" from. Does God say you will eat apple pie? Not exactly. God knows us so intimately, every breath, heartbeat, even the number of the hairs on our head. He knows life has been stressful lately, or perhaps that things haven't been going to well at work lately, or the kids have been a little much to handle, as well as every other single factor in our lives.

It's raining outside the window, kinda cold out, and this person finds apple pie a little more comforting than blueberry pie. God knows it will be apple pie. He knows everything, about everybody. There is not one atom out of place. Can the world understand it? Not until God brings you there.

He is the universe. All the universes and much more. No one shall see the kingdom of God unless He is born again of the Spirit of God. Until you start to realize how awesome He is these things are inconceivable. It's hard to believe He can be all around us and we can't see.

God is the author and creator of every single event, every circumstance that allows men to “chooseâ€Â. He created all that is in the world from beginning to end. Every life, mind, thing on this planet. He is God.

All the glory belongs to Him!

Satan has the whole world fooled just like God said He would. If you are not doing God’s will, you are doing Satan’s will, as God allows. Few are those that believe it though. How easy it is to forget that our so called “free will†is enslaved by sin.

We have "choice" not "free will."

Free will is Satan’s biggest lie.

THE MAN OF SIN SITS ON THE THRONE OF HIS OWN CARNAL MIND, IN HIS OWN BODY CLAIMING POWERS THAT RIVAL THOSE OF GOD HIMSELF! The man of sin claims a spiritual power so great that he believes it can literally thwart and dethrone God Himself from our hearts. This super-natural power of the will is assumed by nearly everyone in the whole world.

God really is in control of everything and everybody. We are not mindless automatons as some would claim. It is far more complicated than that.

We were created to do God’s will, not our own. The one true Living God, The Father of All Creation, The Lord God Almighty.
When we are eventually brought around to putting His will first and doing things His way, we begin to become like Jesus. The Son of God! Joint heirs with Christ. Rulers of God’s Kingdom for all the ages or times.

Just like God said.

Praise the Lord!

Say not: "It was God's doing that I fell away"; for what he hates he does not do. Say not: "It was he who set me astray"; for he has no need of wicked man. Abominable wickedness the LORD hates, he does not let it befall those who fear him. When God, in the beginning, created man, he made him subject to his own free choice. If you choose you can keep the commandments; it is loyalty to do his will. There are set before you fire and water; to whichever you choose, stretch forth your hand. Before man are life and death, whichever he chooses shall be given him. Immense is the wisdom of the LORD; he is mighty in power, and all-seeing. The eyes of God see all he has made; he understands man's every deed. No man does he command to sin, to none does he give strength for lies.

In other words, we are mindless automatons and God is unjust for sending people to hell for things that he has caused them to do.

"See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil.
If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to take possession of it.
But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,
I declare to you this day, that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land which you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,"

What Free is trying to get at with his sarcasm is this: what about those who aren't " eventually brought around to putting His will first and doing things His way", Was it God's will that they not?

As the scripture quoted says, we have a choice, a free will, to follow God or not. God mad man in His image, giving him a rational soul, a free will, that he can use to glorify God, or not.

God has made it a rule for Himself that He won't alter people's character by force. He can and will alter them - but only if people will let Him.

God’s Love VII

And God said “Let there be light“, and there was light. What God says, is! Saying and doing are not two different things for Him, like they are for us. God spoke the whole creation into existence. God spoke the world and the universes into existence. The power of words should not be underestimated.

Jesus said it is our mouths that condemn us.
What comes out of a man is what makes him ‘unclean.’ For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these things come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.’ (Mark 7:20-23)

There are many scriptures about this subject. Many scriptures. Men’s hearts are evil. That goes a long way to explaining the state of the world, doesn’t it? Wars, slavery, starving babies, weapons of mass destruction, greed, cruelty and corruption. Need I go on? There is plenty to go around you know, there always has been. No one should be poor or experiencing lack in this world. If we just took the military budgets for one year, we could make this world a paradise. There is a lot more that could be done as well. Men’s hearts are evil!

-but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. (James 3:8)

The tongue is an incredibly powerful instrument. It can speak blessings or curses!

God is Holy, Righteous and Sinless. His desire is to bring us to that same state. His “Word†has the power to transform us into the likeness of His Son. His “Word†has the power to do anything!
Imagine being able to heal the sick, or feed the multitudes. A life of manifested prayer! Whatever we ask in Jesus name shall be given provided it is asked for in a spirit of perfect trust and faith. We get that by studying God’s Word, and believing His promises to guide us and provide for us in this world; by loving Him with all our hearts; by trusting Him with everything, no matter what we may be going through; by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Apostles could do all these things and more. They even raised the dead! Such days and wonders will soon be here once again!

As long as the “Heaven†of our minds is enslaved by sin, lust and greed etc., these things are impossible. Until we agree with God that sin is bad and we are in fact sinners, we are lost in a desert of delusion. Only God’s Spirit can free us from sin’s bondage. No one can do it alone. We need Jesus!!!

As we grow in our relationship with Jesus and come to an understanding of God’s Life-Giving,
Transforming Word; as we grow in the gifts of God’s Spirit, we begin to turn away from sin. Why? Because we can finally “see†God working in our lives; strengthening us, sustaining us, leading us, teaching us, enabling us, even answering our “heartfelt†prayers. Because God is Good!!! We wouldn’t want anything to mess up our incredible relationship with Him! We know sin separates us from God and His incredible goodness. God enables us to turn from sin, to love our enemies, to have compassion for others, to forgive, to give freely, and to speak blessings, to trust Him for everything and much, much more!

God’s Holy, Living, Active Word transforms us into the image of Christ. There are nearly 1300 promises made in the Holy Bible, all of them incredible and some are beyond human comprehension. The realization that they are all true initiates the birth of Faith and complete trust that God will sustain you and provide for all your needs; just like He promises to do for those who will turn away from sin and “forsake the worldâ€Â. It isn’t that we are to no longer care about the world. In fact we care more deeply than ever. God is now our source for all things. The rewards and accolades of the world no longer sway those who walk by Faith! It is a new way of life that the world cannot understand. Few are those who are able to withstand the spiritual onslaught of opposing forces which do everything in their power to convince the mind that such things cannot be. Why, it’s turning your back on reason! It’s foolish! It’s suicide!

It’s contrary to the world, is what it is!

We have God - capable of flying 20 universes at the same time, author and creator of every life, circumstance and event that has or will take place on this planet. Nothing is too hard for the Lord!!! Neither is everything! He IS all things! God is awesome!!! He will fulfill every single promise He has made in the life of the believer, whether in the here and now or in the hereafter. Those whom He has called to walk by Faith He enables to do so. It is the birth of a new creature!!!

What about those who are not called, can’t believe, or refuse to accept God’s teachings? What happens to the unbelievers? Most mainstream religions propose that only a small segment of the population is going to Heaven and that the vast majority of people who have walked the face of the Earth are going to burn in Hell and suffer unimaginable torment forever and ever and ever. That billions and billions of people who have lived on this planet are going to go to Hell and “Fry in Hell†for all eternity. Unimaginable pain for mothers, children, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins, babies!!! Forever!!!

Thank God that isn’t what the Bible teaches! How can people be blamed because God didn’t call them out, didn’t enable them to walk by faith, or to do His Will? It doesn’t add up does it? Are some people better than others? Nope! Yet most of the Christian world is under the delusion that they are smarter than non-Christian people because they CHOSE GOD!!! They think they chose; that somehow God has to work around their “free willâ€Â. God’s Word gives a different account. We have to be called by Him - literally dragged to it, convicted and convinced by God’s Holy Spirit. He chooses us, not the other way around! This is just one example of how “some folks†aren’t doing things God’s way. They put their own will, wants, needs and plans ahead of God’s Will!!!

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other. (John 15: 16-17)

Satan has the whole world fooled just like God said he would! If you are not doing God’s Will, you are doing Satan’s will. Few are those that believe it though. How easy it is to forget that our so called “free will†is enslaved by sin!!!

As mentioned in God’s Love IV, the Holy Bible is translated from the original Greek (and Hebrew) manuscripts. If you trust God and are seeking His wisdom, you will likely find yourself examining some of these translations. Words like ‘hell’ ‘grave’ and ‘death’ in the Bible are all translated from the original manuscripts. In fact the whole Bible, all the words are translated. When you read the word ‘hell’ in the Bible, it is translated from the Greek ‘Hades’ which means covered up, or the Hebrew ‘Sheol’ which means….covered up! The Greek word ‘Aion’ is translated in the Bible as eternity, but really means a long period of time. It never meant forever, or eternity. There is no word for such in the Bible. These are just a couple of examples. There is much more scriptural evidence along these lines that fully supports these concepts. I pray you will start investigating soon if you haven’t already.

Then there’s that part about being thrown into the lake of fire! It is the fire of “God’s Holy Spiritâ€Â!!!

-for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29)

Guess what? That is where we all are right now! Wow!!! There are some who have been refined enough to embrace the God and Father of all Creation through the circumstances of their ‘Creator designed’ lives. Many are not yet ready and will be “COVERED UP FOR A TIMEâ€Â!!!

So burning in ‘Hell for all Eternity’ becomes ‘a further refining by God’s Holy Spirit’ and ‘being covered up for a time!’ Trials and tribulations? Yes! Eternal pain and suffering? NO!!! Separated from a full and complete Heavenly relationship with God? For a time. God will restol according to His schedule. He will not lose a single person, creature, atom or molecule. Eventually everyone will be “readied†for a relationship with God. All will be reunited with their loved ones, never again to experience loss, sorrow, suffering and the consequences of sin! God will be “all-in-all!†There will be no more tears in Heaven!!!!!!! The “Gospel†is GOOD NEWS!!! That is what “Gospel†means, GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.†(Mark 16:15)

Yes, I did read the ending. Did you read my response? My points still stand:

1. We are mindless automatons since we have no control over what we do or do not do.
2. God sends people to hell for things he has caused them to do, which is very unjust.

Litebeam said:

Just because man was created to do the will of God does not mean that we do not have free will. It simply means that we are able to choose whether we do God's will or ours.

Litebeam said:

This statement implies that we do in fact have some degree of free will, if there can even be "degrees" of free will. What are we being brought around from and why?

Your position is seeming less and less consistent.

Deuteronomy 30:19, "19 'I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,'"

My position is I believe God's word.

Jeremiah 10:23
[ Jeremiah's Prayer ] I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.

We have choice, not free will.

Hell is a further refinement in God's Holy Spirit.

Lightbeam,

You got it right re. man's sinfulness. We all have original sin. Through Christ we are redeemed, but not all.

"Therefore as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men sinned . . . Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. And the free gift is not like the effect of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brings justification. If, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. Then as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to acquittal and life for all men. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man's obedience many will be made righteous"
Romans 5:12-19

In Matt. 7:13-14 Jesus says
"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Regarding your meaning of the word hell, Jesus describes it as a place of fire
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna, where 'their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.'
Mark 9:47-48

From the notes in my bible:
Gehenna: in Hebrew ge-hinnom, "Valley of Hinnom," or
ge ben-hinnom, "Valley of the son of Hinnom," southwest of Jerusalem, the center of an idolatrous cult during the monarchy in which children were offered in sacrifice (see 2 Kings 23:10; Jeremiah 7:31).
In Joshua 18:16 (Septuagint, Codex Vaticanus) the Hebrew is transliterated into Greek as gaienna, which appears in the New Testament as geenna. The concept of punishment of sinners by fire either after death or after the final judgment is found in Jewish apocalyptic literature (e.g., Enoch 90:26) but the name geenna is first given to the place of punishment in the New Testament.

The early Church acknowledged that hell was real. Ignatius of Antioch and others who knew the apostles interpreted these verses regarding hell as real. See http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/1991/9108frs.asp for some quotes.

That's ok. Posting a link to your own site, in most cases, is no different than, say, posting a link to any site on the Web. As long as it's there for a reference, I see no problem.

Parking the link in your signature is a different story. We have a special Forum for Site Advertizing.

God is the Absolute Sovereign Lord of All Things. How do you figure this statement implies that we have degrees of free will?

If I'm not mistaken we have over 30,000 denominations that can't agree on many things. I rather suspect they mostly agree that they have free will though.

Even though Jesus Christ our Lord sought only to do His Fathers will.

You would think professing Christians would want to be like Jesus. He could heal the sick, give sight to the blind, raise from the dead. Does that sound so bad?

God wants to transform us into the image of His Son. Does that seem as if God doesn't have our best interests at heart?

I agree, God does want to transform us into His Son's image, but we have to cooperate with Him, it is not just His action.

Danger:
To deny free will is to deny sin. To deny sin is to deny the need for a Saviour. Denying hell is the same, as hell is what we are ultimately saved from.
