You know about the "water taxi" that moves pedestrians from Seattle to West Seattle? Cool little ferry. The big ones are fun, too.

I've never taken a ferry, but notice they are pretty popular in other states. Maybe one day!

The picture is pretty crisp. I like water, but I am missing the plants and trees ?

many variations, some where hand pulled along a rope across, such was the case nearby where i live, others it was a barge that moved you across a small river, in this case, they take cars, and i have been on all, in washington, there is a ferry from port angeles to victoria b.c.

No, I didn't know about that one. We used to take the ferry to Bremerton, have dinner, walk around a bit and then go back. It was always a good time. I always loved seeing the Seattle skyline at night coming back. Take a picture for me if you can! It's the best picture of the Space Needle you'll ever get in my opinion.

I loved the Pike Street Market. Used to get halibut for next to nothing.

built in 1882 ,the store was a thatch hut that later was transferred to this cannery ,I,need to dig up the p.p. Cobb history

There's such a ferry at Los Ebanos in the Rio Grande Valley. It's pretty much a wooden deck on metal barrels for floatation, and pulled across the river on a rope.

This one is from my son's apartment on Capitol Hill. The view no longer exists; developers threw up a high-rise in front of it. He now lives across the Sound in West Seattle.
