[__ Prayer __] Seeing a Specialist

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ.

I ask that you pray for me and caromurp concerning a doctor's appointment I have today. This doctor I will see today will determine if I need to have my Tonsils removed or not. I saw a doctor last tuesday about a sleep issue I am having and I was inform that my Tonsils were significantly inflamed and as large as "golf balls".

I am not concerned about the possible surgery as much as I am concerned about the costs. Pray that God will continue to provide for our needs.

Tim,

I had my tonsils out when I was 5 years old because of repeated ear infections. That was 52 years ago! :yes

I remember they gave me lots of ice cream after the surgery! :D

God will provide your needs! :amen

Hope all goes well.

God Bless.

It is official. I am scheduled to have my tonsils, adanoids, and a portion of my Uvula removed on August 11th. Please pray for everything involved.

Praying for your surgery to go well, for your recovery to be speedy and for it all not to be too painful to your body or pocketbook! :pray

jason,

I once lived with someone who had snored so loudly the even with the door closed you could still hear him. I went through 6 years of being exasperated. I had to get my sleep when he wasn't home. the doctors suggested he have his Uvula removed and tonsils and they also told him to loose weight stop drinking beer and start on an exercise program to help reduce the snoring. I suppose it depends on the doctor in regard to how to be rid of snoring. This guy, didn't do a thing about it. He ignored the doctors and I suffered for 6 years being totally tired all the time. I remeber when I lived at home and shared a room with my sister. she snored like the dickens and I'd always end up throwing a pillow at her to get her to roll over.

Whatever the problem Tim, be it continual infections, like I had when I was 5 years old, or whatever... I'll be praying that you and your wife fair well through all of this. :pray

I've done the sleep study and they C-paped me. With the study done, my doctor should have the go-ahead to do all that he wanted to do to aleaviate the issue.

It's not so much the snoring as it is the fact that he stops breathing all through the night, and gasps for air. The sleep clinic told him this morning that he stops breathing every 30 seconds (I thought it was more than that). That means that he stops breathing 120 times an hour, or 840 times a night! That can't be good for anybody, and It's really worrisome to watch :puppydogeyes

Thank you everyone for your prayers, God knew this was going on before we did and I believe He has already made a way for a good outcome :) :thumb

wow, that's a LOT of times a night. I have sleep apnea but not so severely. What helps me is to have a fan running on low during the night to keep the air cirulating in the room. And yes, I struggle with keeping 20 lbs off of me. I've noticed the apnea occurs less frequently when I'm maintaining to keep those 20 lbs at bay. NOT an easy task for someone my age. It's a constant battle, because I like sweets, potato chips, and Icecream! and dislike having to exercise regularly. lol

It is said, and I've tried it and found it to have helped me, that with a continual flow of air going through the room that it helps to keep the breathing more regular. I can't stand a stuffy room without air flowing through it anyway, because I do have a difficult time breathing even when I'm awake, in a room without air flowing through it. But then... that may just be me.

And to think, if you and Tim hadn't gotten married when you did, I wonder, would he have gone for medical help with this? Did he even know about it before you got married? Some people don't know they even have it until someone comes along and notices something is not right.

Anyway, you guys are in my prayers. It will all turn out for the best. :yes

I like the air flow too. Fan @ work, in bedroom and in living room. It does help me to breath through my nose a little bit, but only so much and when I'm sleeping I normally breath through my mouth because of the oobstruction. The machine forced those airways open.

As for what I knew, I knew NOTHING. I also knew I snored and I that was it. I never had any of the symtoms from being awake like fatique, headaches, or anything. Caroline and I think this is a more recent tread because in the last few weeks I've begun showing the day-time signs. God blessed me with a wife just in time in more ways than one.

That's what I thought Tim. Usually the person who has it doesn't realize it or how much it has been an interference.

Yep, just in time... God provides, just in time. :yes :D
