Well since Nashville is snowed in today with a few inches of the white stuff.

Where are you? (generally speaking...Just the nearest big city and state) and how much snow do you have?

Northern CA about 6 inches .... with rain do in tomorrow and a good chance of small creek flooding in the valley...

John,

There is more to the world than the northern hemisphere and the USA at that.

This is my forecast in Brisbane for today: Brisbane for Saturday Partly cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers or drizzle, most likely in the morning. Winds SE 25 to 35 km/h. Ipswich Max 29 Redcliffe Max 27 Sun protection 7:50am to 4:20pm, UV Index predicted to reach 15 [Extreme]. (Weatherzone)

Today's predicted temperature range is 22-27C. That's 71-80F. We have had in the mid 30s in the last week and it's heading there again late next week.

Brazzaville, capital of the Congo, is expecting a max of 30C today, Saturday (source). Cape Town, South Africa has a predicted max of 26C today, 7 Jan (source).

This is Florida kind of weather in Brisbane, the sub-tropics. It is exceptionally rare for us to experience snow, but it has happened in winter on these dates:
  • 27 July 1882 – Snowfalls observed in Brisbane.
  • 27 June 1927 – Snow in Brisbane.
  • 21 Sept 1958 – Light snow flakes seen by 4 observers at 5.15pm: OIC Met Office Eagle Farm at Moorooka, a New Zealand woman at Wooloowin, Bowen Hills near Cloudland and at Taringa (source).

Well of course...You are in the Southern Hemisphere. It's your Summer.

But all of Europe, Asia and North America (including Canada eh) is experiencing winter.

January is the coldest month. Sometimes February.

It's a very strange experience to go from South Brazil to North America...

From tropical climate to the big chill.

I know! I lived for 7 years in some of the cold, cold parts of Canada and the USA.

However, those in the northern hemisphere need to remember that there is a chunk of us experiencing the opposite season. You seem to forget this, hence my reminder.

About 90% of the Southern Hemisphere is ocean and we have only 10-12% of the world's population. We often are the forgotten minority and that can happen on Christian forums.

Hi John
Closest city, Lucca.
Closest known city, Pisa.
No snow.
It snowed in Lucca two years ago.
About one or two inches.
Schools closed, businesses shut down. Auto accidents all over...
We lived in NYC. My husband and I were cracking up!
But it's good... No more shoveling snow.

We got about a foot and a half of freezing snow down here in Central Florida.
But most of it's in my mind.
:coffee
Here. Have some nice hot coffee.
I hear the weather there dropped under 80 today.

Oh. And snow isn't freezing.
The temperature is freezing...Thus causing snow instead of rain.
You could read up on this since you'll never see any.

Lol, you obviously never lived in the northeast.
Freezing snow is quite common.
Now New York City, that's where you'll find the famous black snow.

Well, I never heard of warm snow.
How do I trust a person who can't remember what snow looks like?
I mean, listen to you...
You think there's black snow--

I live in SC. I'm not sure how much snow is coming our way, honestly. We had cold rain earlier today It was crazy. Its been kinda warm for the season, and then the rain hit and it got cold, fast. I think the much-anticipated storm is to begin sometime tonight...

Cold rain.
Freezing snow.
These strange phenomenon don't exist in Europe.
