Sunday Trades

As an employer...Yes
As an employee...no

Oxen fall in ditches... Double time is great money....But creating a heathen atmosphere isn't a good idea.
 
If my Brothers and Sisters are sitting there with no heat and it's cold...yes, I'll go help them on Sunday. Or Saturday.

Personally I believe that when we cross over and are living with our Lord and GOD on the new earth...that the Sabbath day of rest will be reinstituted and observed. God doesn't change.

Can you direct me to any NT verses that have a message that approximates, 'The first day of the week is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord and on that day no Christian may do any work'?

How is a 'heathen atmosphere' created by a policeman, nurse, doctor, paramedic or general employee who works on the first day of the week?

As an employee...NO
As an employer...Yes

The public service trades are employees...Just like the Levites who worked every Sabbath...A necessary element.

An employer is someone who owns a business that employs others. Like a taco stand. You can make your employees work on Sunday but it's really better if you don't.

I miss church often because I must work on Sunday.

I do happen to read what you wrote. You haven't provided NT evidence that prohibits employers from working on Sundays but it's OK for employees. I'm still waiting.

Referring to the Levites is irrelevant as that was under the Old Covenant, which has been superseded.
 
So missing church ,as most churches have a Sunday service and some bible study night in the mid week,over making more to buy things is not a sin?

I could if I reduced debt and spending not miss church that much.

You have made some choices. However, being a diligent and reliable employee demonstrates godly behaviour.

Blue laws,are you familiar with them?
In my youth no stores shops,banks were open.now you can bank on Sunday.

At some point the almighty dollar must be repented of its worship.

Mate,

I lived in the USA for 5 years. I know all about blue laws.

However, the issue in this thread is 'Sunday Trades'. I understand the question being asked: Is it biblically legitimate to work or do business on Sunday, the Lord's Day?

My understanding is that there is no NT mandate: Thou shalt not work for money or trade for money on the Lord's Day or First Day of the week.
