I have to admit that when I first came across the title of this book, I was a bit turned off by it. After all, Jesus was taken down from the cross, laid in a borrowed tomb, and raised from the dead. We, as Christians, not only died with Christ, but were also buried and raised with Him. So, why should we stay there at the cross? Why should we not go on from the cross to resurrected glory as Jesus did?
Ah, but The Cross Centered Life is about the propitiatory work of Christ on the cross being the central motivation of the Christian's life and faith. Just as Christ's work on the cross was the centerpiece of God's eternal plan, so also it is to be the centerpiece of the Christian's life.
It's a short book (in physical size and page-length, a mere 85 pages excluding the endnotes), but well worth reading.
