The dangers of Nutmeg

Wow. I didn't know that either.

Am gonna have to rethink the blend I make for creating pumpkin pie spice coffee .... either that, or start adding lots of whipped cream to the mug of coffee!

Looks good.Too bad I don't drink coffee.

Thankfully, there's still a little bit of whipped cream left - without any more pie on which to use it. (And it's the real stuff..... heavy cream, vanilla, bit of sugar)

It really IS good, Kathi, pumpkin spice coffee! Taste like pumpkin pie, no doubt about it.

You do know if you have a poppyseed muffin or bagel and then you get a drug test you will get busted unless you tell them before hand. But couldn't anyone say that?

Quite a few years ago, there was a young married couple whose newborn was taken away from them for a short while because the new mom tested positive for illegal drugs in her system. Turns out, just before labor pains started, she had stopped by her usual bakery, bought two poppy-seed muffins, and ate them as she drove on to work. (The baby was a little bit early)

So, yes, one should be cautious when eating poppyseeds.

I'm well aware of that, and the guys on mythbusters proven that eating something like 3 of them stays in your system for 3 days. They modified the tests to supposedly filter that out, but it's still questionable. OTC cold meds also do the same thing as my son was tested positive while in the hospital after passing out (from some sort of virus and fever) they wanted to make sure it wasn't his "heart" because cancer and heart disease and erroneous low fat, etc diets are the unscientific medical fads these days they overlooked the obvious, and then said he did not pass a drug test. Shows what they know.

Heck, I'm sorry my company no longer gives such drug tests. I would have eaten many poppy seeds before the test. I want out so bad from that job, but I don't want to outright quit because that would be bad luck on my part if life gets hard due to my decision, but I relieve myself of any responsibility if they do the call first and do the firing. After all, poppy seeds are natural, and like vitamins no sin to eat them. I can't help if this crooked society is worries whether I'm taking drugs when so many things can cause a false positive and then act like all this "alternate lifestyle" and other moral messes are normal. Pretty screwed up.

A dusting of nutmeg on your eggnog won't send you to the hospital—but a couple of tablespoons of the stuff might lead to a very unhappy experience.

Getting too much of something can be bad for you? Wow! I never could have figured that out on my own.
