Of all the enemies of the Church (Satan and the world), The FLESH is the WORST!. While both Satan and the World are terrible enemies, always challenging the Christian life, It is the FLESH that is the Christians greatest enemy according to God's word. NOTICE! "For the flesh lusteth (fights) against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary one to the other: that you cannot do the things that ye would." (Gal. 5:17)
" For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing." (Rom. 7:18)
The bible calls the old Adamic nature "flesh," and then tells us what it is like. (Rom. 8:8) says, "Those that are in the flesh cannot please God."
When we were born into the world we were born with a sinful nature.....Why? For we are all descendants from Adam and Eve, and when Adam and Eve sinned, They died spiritually. And they became fallen creatures with fallen natures, and since we a their descendants, we all partake of their sinful nature., Why? Because the seed of a fruit produces the same fruit. "Behold, I was sharpened in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Psalms 51:5) "The wicked are estranged from the womb: They go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. (Psalms 58:3).
A man must be born again! (John 3:1-9). The worst enemy we have to keep us from growing in grace is our old fleshy nature (Rom. 7:18; 24). God gave us a new man, He never changed the old man! That is why we have an advocate (The risen Lord) at the right hand of the Father, who is our propitiation (Mercy seat). For if we say we do not sin (by the weakness of the flesh...not by practicing sin) we make God out to be a liar (1 John 1:8-10).
You Must be Born Again! Really!
