The Grapes of Wrath

I just finished this book tonight.
One of the best fiction books that I have ever read.
I will never look at the poor or homeless the same again.
Not that I ever looked down on them at all, it's not that.
It was heartbreaking watching the women trying to hold her family together.

Certainly a materpiece of the 20th century.

Its very much like listening to my dad tell his Depression stories.

My Dad had a "cat fit" when he found out Grapes of Wrath was required reading for the sophomore high school year! It was a great book one of the best i have ever read. Stinebeck is easy to read and understand.

If you liked that try his other books. All great American stories. My favorite Steinbeck novel is "Cannery Row" for some reason. It's a bit autobiographical. Second best is "of mice and men". The man wrote what he saw.

My in-laws knew the real life people he use for the base of Cannery Row! Father-in- law spent many evening froggen in Carmel Valley.

And Geoorge Washington slept in every room from Maine to South Carolina...
