In Matthew 25 is the parable of the ten virgins. Five were wise and five were foolish.
Matthew 25 Commentary - Matthew Henry Commentary on …
This seems to be a good commentary. A few years ago the pastor at my church gave a sermon on this topic. One of the things that stuck in my mind to this day is..
YOU CANNOT BORROW A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
Beware of Spiritual Blindness
Revelation 3:2-3
2
Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3
Remember (renew your mind daily) therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and
repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Revelation 3:2-3
Revelation 3:17-19
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent.
Remember: God only awards righteousness when the Believer places Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. Failure to maintain your Faith exclusively in Christ and Him Crucified, the light gets dimer and eventually dies.
No wonder you're running into things, tripping over things, falling over things, because that which is light is now dark and you can't see. In other words you get to take care of you.
