hello Chopper, dirtfarmer here
When you make the statement; " The rest of the Torah is very valuable for YHWH's believers", are you referencing the church, the body of Christ?
How do you interpret Jesus' statement in Matthew 5:17, "
Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."?
It is my understanding that the Old testament is divide into 3 sections:
1. Tanakh- Torah 5 books of the Pentateuch- Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy
2. Prophets- Joshua, Judges, 1&2 Samuel, 1&2 Kings, and then the latter prophets- Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the 12 minor prophets.
3. Writtings- Psalm, Proverbs, Job, The Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Ester, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and 1&2 Chronicles.
If a covenant is fulfilled then it no longer is in force, hence, the reason for the New testament purchased by the blood of Christ and the establishment of his church, the Body of Christ.
I am not familiar with the term "renewed covenant."
iakov the fool
So a hebrew is under the torah after the cross?
Are we believers in YHWH and have to keep even part of the old covenant, or believers in Christ, the Son of God that fulfilled the law and the prophets and are a new creation to walk in the works that Christ has accomplished. It is not our righteousness but the righteousness of Christ that has made us acceptable to God.
