The Conception of John the Baptist.

Zachariah, the father of John the Baptist, which is important to understand that Jesus was born September/October according to the Lunar Jewish Calendar being conceived six months after John the Baptist.

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived

Beginning with the first month, Nisan, in the spring (March-April), the schedule of the priest's courses would result with Zachariah serving during the 10th week of the year. This is because he was a member of the course of Abia (Abijah), the 8th course, and both the Feast of Unleavened Bread (15-21 Nisan) and Pentecost (6 Sivan) would have occurred before his scheduled duty. This places Zachariah administration in the Temple as beginning on the second Sabbath of the third month, Sivan (May-June).

Having completed his Temple service on the third Sabbath of Sivan, Zachariah returned home and soon conceived his son John. So John the Baptist was probably conceived shortly after the third Sabbath of the month of Sivan.

The Course of Abijah would have been the first week of the 7th month. Since all Priests during the festivals, Zechariah would have likely got Elizabeth pregnant around the 22nd of the 7th month. We know the first course was serving when the Temple was destroyed 9th of Av. Therefore, that would be the second week. Now the Festival of Lights (Feast of Dedication - 25 Kislev) would have been when Jesus is Born and likely circumcised on the 8th day or last day of that Festival. What also happen right when that 25th day of Kislev is occurring in 3 BC is that Jupiter (which is in Leo/Judah) goes into retrograde and 'stops' right on that day. This would have been the star that the Magi were following. Additionally, when Jesus is crucified on March 25th of 31 AD, that same star (planet) is in Aries (The LAMB).

Also, Pentecost is ALWAYS on the 9th day of the 3rd month. Because we count to it from the 16 of the first month and count by Sabbaths (weeks) but we don't count the new moons in-between. This is because the Jews week was based on the moon at that time. So the sabbath days were always on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of each month. This can be confirmed through Jewish Source at the time of Christ such as Philo of Alexandria. The first moon of the year is the one in which the Full moon falls AFTER the Spring Equilux.

We know that Jesus was crucified in 31 AD because that is the only year in that timeframe (when Tiberius and Pilate and Chaiaphas were all ruling) and the 10th day of the Lunar Month falls immediately after the Spring Equinox. This is the important clue that Moses gave us. Jesus HAD to be apprehended on the 10th day of the month. That day came right after the Equilux because they sat down to eat the Passover meal ("Last Supper"). The Passover of the Jews (as the New Testament calls it) was the one that was a type for that Passover and why the Jews had to wait until the FULL Moon of the first month to fall after the Equinox because it was going to be that time when LIGHT would displace all darkness from the time the sun set to the time it rose because the Moon would immediately shed light when it rose as the sun was setting. But the Disciples didn't have to wait as they would traditionally until the 15th to eat their Passover, because Jesus IS the LIGHT and they had already had the NEW YEAR and the LIGHT, and not reason to wait until the 15th.

Jesus was then apprehended (Moses instructed them to take their lamb on the 10th and it was to be removed from its fold and kept until the 14th). So Jesus was apprehended on the 10th and kept but it was on the 10th when he went before the Jews and they put Him in the HEART of the EARTH (figuratively) by placing having him condemned. At that point he had the sins of the world upon Him. So the next 3 days and nights (complete night and day), He was in that heart of the earth (not the tomb). And then He was crucified on the 14th and risen on the 16th. So it would break down like this:

Equilux (9th of Nissan)
10th of Nissan - Jesus eats with disciples the Passover meal and is apprehended later that evening.
On the morrow (still the 10th), Jesus is before Pilate and sentenced to death.
11-13 (Jesus if Spiritually in the Heart of the Earth) having had the sins of the world placed upon him - as evidenced by the two goats being put before Jews (Barabas and Jesus). Remember that is the ritual on the 10th of the month as typically done in the 7th month but here we have it occur Spiritually.
14th, - Jesus is crucified during the day and as the shadows retreat - He dies on the cross and is entombed that evening.
15th - Feast of Unleavened Bread began evening and Jesus were eating their passover lambs. Morrow of the 15th, Priests have the tomb sealed.
16th - Jesus is risen before sunrise.

King David on God's instructions (1 Chr 28:11-13) had divided the sons of Aaron into 24 groups (1 Chr 24:1-4), to setup a schedule by which the Temple of the Lord could be staffed with priests all year round in an orderly manner. After the 24 groups of priests were established, lots were drawn to determine the sequence in which each group would serve in the Temple. (1 Chr 24: 7-19). That sequence is as follows:

1 Chr 24:7

1. Jehoiarib

2. Jedaiah

1 Chr 24:8

1 Chr 24:19 These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.

Now each one of the 24 "courses" of priests would begin and end their service in the Temple on the Sabbath, a tour of duty being for one week (2 Chr 23:8, 1 Chr 9:25). On three occasions during the year, all the men of Israel were required to travel to Jerusalem for festivals of the Lord, so on those occasions all the priests would be needed in the Temple to accommodate the crowds. Those three festivals were Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, and Tabernacles (Deut 16:16).

The Yearly Cycle of Service in the Temple.

The Jewish calendar begins in the spring, during the month of Nisan, so the first "course" of priests, would be that of the family of Jehoiarib, who would serve for one week, Sabbath to Sabbath. The second week would then be the responsibility of the family of Jedaiah. The third week would be the feast of Unleavened Bread, and all priests would be present for service. Then the schedule would resume with the third course of priests, the family of Harim. By this plan, when the 24th course was completed, the general cycle of courses would repeat. This schedule would cover 51 weeks or 357 days, enough for the lunar Jewish calendar (about 354 days). So, in a period of a year, each group of priests would serve in the Temple twice on their scheduled course, in addition to the 3 major festivals, for a total of about five weeks of duty.

Yes, I agree with all that but I don't believe that it started with the first month. We have evidence that the first course was serving in the second week of the 5th month. Therefore, we that is the only evidence I'm aware of where we have a starting point documented in history that is closer to the time of Christ which is the relevant period we are concerned with. I'm sure if you do an internet search on Jehoiarib and the destruction of the temple, you will find articles that show how that course was on service on the 2nd week of the 5th month when the Temple was destroyed by the Romans.

The Hebrew Lunar calendar began with the first month being Abib/Nisan (March-April) and ends with Shebat/Shevant (January-Febuary). This is different then the Gregorian calendar we use today.

God gave to Moses the first Hebrew calendar at the very first passover.

Exo 12:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
Exo 12:2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Yes, I agree. But it is the moon and the sun together that determine the first month. The sun determines when the year starts when there is a equal part of light to night (Spring equilux) and then the first month is the first lunar month in which the full moon occurs after that equilux.
