The Sad Moon
The sad moon in front of a cloud
The sad man in front of a crowd
The life ahead begins tomorrow
And tomorrow never comes
The past invades my privacy, uninvited
like the incessant barking of a noisy neighbours dog
I thought I had locked the door
How did you get in?
A page in revelation
The future is now
All has been revealed
I wish you hadn’t told me how it all turns out
Now I don’t need to watch it.
And I paid to get in.
Still, it’s a nice sunny day today
And the ignorant enjoy their bliss
I can’t break bread with them anymore
The living can’t drink away their sorrows
For tomorrow we clean up the mess
But what of today?
Is it eternal?
Must hope always be blind?
Will faith always go unseen?
( I hope this isn't too morbid and moribund)
