The Spiritual Realm and the Physical Realm

Member
Spiritual realities are just as real as the tangible things we perceive with our five senses. There is more to life than what meets the eye; the natural eye that is. There are two realms running concurrently—the spiritual realm, and the physical realm. Both realms are as real as the other. In fact, the spiritual realm is even more real because it is what I like to call the “parent realm.†In other words, everything originates there. What we perceive with our five senses changes and pass away, but spiritual realities are eternal, meaning they will exist forever. This is what makes the spiritual realm superior to the natural.

Now, whether or not you believe in a spiritual realm does not negate the truth that it indeed exists! It contains spiritual matter, beings, and activities that affect what goes on in the Earth. In the realm of the spirit, there are forces of good and evil, God and Satan, angels and demons. This may sound like something out of a science fiction movie but it is no fairy tale. It is real and taking place right now. There are two kingdoms in operation: the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Darkness. In the first, Jesus Christ is Lord; the second is headed by Satan and his forces. The battle that rages on a constant basis is for the souls of men.

the Truth is that there is not a Heaven without an Earth, nor there is an Earth without a Heaven, because the Earth is (just) the developed Heaven, while the Heaven is the good in the human

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.",

Revelation 21:1 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."

Blessings

I like to look at it as dimensions of reality. Yes the spirit world is just as real as the physical world. Our mind comprehends reality mainly in 3 dimension plus time. Some of us who are more spiritually discerning can sometimes get a glimpse into more dimensions of reality. Those of us who are children of God have access beyond the 3 dimensions though we can only see into those dimensions dimly. Those who deal with the occult also can go beyond our 3 dimensions as well...though i wouldn't recommend that route.lol Yes the "spirit world" is just as real as the physical world...actually there is no difference between the two...the difference is our inability for the most part to see reality in its entirety.:)

Has anyone also noticed how we can't fully comprehend what heaven and hell will be like.
It's as if earth is protected from either too much glory or too much pain.

1Cor 2:9 suggests that it is not even possible to imagine the things that god has in store for us. And yet we have the book of Revelation which depicts and entertains many iconic images.
the statement in 1Cor 2:9 the eye has not seen nor the ear heard nor has the heart imagined the things that God has prepared for those that love God is imediatly folllowed By
1Cor 2:10 - But God has revealed them to us by his spirit, because the spirit searches all things, yes even the deep things of god....
so paul explains a little later 1Cor 13:12 now we see through a dark glass, but then we will see face to face. now i know in part but then shall i know even as i am known.
in another place Rom 11:33 O the depths of his riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his ways past finding out. Who has known the mind of the lord? or who has been his counsellor?
And earlier in Deu 29:29 The secret things belong unto the lord our God but those things which are revealed belong to us and our children for ever, that we may do all the words of his law.
And here Dan 2:22 he revealeth the deep and secret things, he knoweth what is in the darkness and the light dwelleth with him

And here Jesus has spoken of the secret things in his parables Mat 13:35
here I believe is the best way to imagine any type of spiritual reality is through the teachings of Christ mainly through his parables. because they develope an ideaology as we have termed it as to what the only spiritual existence that is available for us. In my opinion after studying the subject of heaven and hell I believe that as it states in Rev 20:14 Death and Hell will be swallowed up and destroyed. the only element of sin remaining forever and ever in the new heaven and the new earth is depicted in Isa 66:22 -24 will be the carcases of the men so as to cause the memory and knowledge of consequence of sin to never be deleted. And the only existence for us as created beings will be to coexist with our father and savior in one spirit. in other words any other type of existence will be strictly forbidden. So back to the themes of Jesus parables they create the mental image of righteousness which is an attitude approved of by the father. This is what I believe Paul is refering to in 1Cor 4:1 Think of us as servents of the Messiah and as servant managers entrusted with Gods secrets.

some of the things that god has in store for us are not possible for us to imagine but the existence and conduct of righteous spiritual beings are revealed to us by the Holy spirit which searches out the deep things of God Php 2:13

One of the coolest scriptures I allways think about is 2Kin6:17 this scripture depicts the substance and position of the beings in the spiritual realm it shows that our Weapons are indeed reinforced by a real spiritual campaign to protect the things which belong to our father, the soldiers in there firey chariots are easy for my to create a mental image of, the idea that I cannot distinguish with my vision is the substance of Elishas faith. I am however able to construct the idea or imagine the his awesome spiritual armor around him but as far as the structure of what his spirit is composed of I can only see it dimly as looking through a dark glass. Though I know it is there as if I can even touch it because my faith gives it substance. I do hope for a condition that allows a spiritual existence that will be greater than what my imagination can construct. Heb 11:16

I hope i have not been to hard to follow with these last two posts it is kind of hard to get all the information that runs through my head out sometimes. :crazy

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 KJV

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die. Isaiah 57:1-2 NLT

We have been conditioned to believe only what we can see, hear, touch, and smell; however, we must not forget that the spiritual realm is higher than the physical realm. All physical things originated in the unseen, spiritual realm, including all of mankind. We should keep in mind that we are spirits living in physical bodies, and the spiritual things we cannot see are just as real as the physical things we can see.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15-17

Amen, I enjoyed reading the last two post.
I think that it is good also that God does not allow us to see some of these spiritual things unless He has a purpose for it.
I dont really want to see a giant or devil. Until like David, I have been taught by God to fight and with what weapons to take him out.
Blessed are those who do not see, yet believe.

That is an interesting thing to imagine that we are like little children concerning the spiritual things. All my children were deathly afraid of the train that runs about 1000yrds from my house it rumbles in the distance as it climbs the hill we live on it slowly gets louder and louder roaring its horn as it crosses a few of the nearby roads and then as it comes over the top of the hill it increases still even louder and the ground even vibrates as the many thousand ton train is pushing itself down the hill.

When the kids were about 2ys they would be out in the yard playing and when they heard it coming they would toddle there little selves as fast as they could back to the front deck sceaming and crying falling franticly unable to get away from the unknown noise as its frequency increased. And now when the train comes they all sometimes scream in a joyfull noise the train coming pretending like they are affraid but only running and laughing as if it where no big deal and sometimes they even ask me if we can go look at it.

I think of the spiritual things in the same way they are unknown to us we are not familiar with them they they are dreadful to imagine and because we are like children even as newborns we are developing in the womb of this earthly realm and it comforts me to know that when we are born into our spiritual bodies or God and savior will have every safegaurd in place to protect us and establish us in the spiritual realm. even as we protect our own newborn babies so the father has prepared a place for us to be infants in his heavenly house. I really brings things into perspective as to what he has instore for us we have absolutly no idea yet our conduct will in no way fear the things that we now can imagine. Our God is so amazing to even imagine I am greatfull that his son calls me brother and that he himself wants me to call him father.

Wow and amen!
I will share one with you also?
Not long after I understood the Lord had a call upon my life to ministry, I was so full of zeal and ready to go to battle! One sunday I was setting on my fathers porch reading the scriptures, and look at a baby robbin that my young nieces had found out of its nest. They had it in a cage and that little bird was flapping its wings like it was trying to fly and get out of that cage. I look at the little bird and said when you are ready to fly I will let you out. Now my brother also had a little spits dog that would just set a watch that bird licking its lips like he could not wait to get a bit of him. He was glaring at the little bird from a chair and had his nose almost to the bottom of the bird cage. Now the Lord spoke to me at that moment and said "SON YOU ARE LIKE THIS BIRD, AND SATAN IS LIKE THIS DOG, IF I ALLOW YOU OUT OF THIS CAGE BEFORE YOU ARE READY TO FLY, SATAN WILL DESTROY YOU.
now sense this day I have always tried to rejoice in when I feel like I am in a cage, I try to remember to be patient and learn the things God would have me learn. I know when the time is right and I have learned to fly I will be set free.
I also consider one of the great old testament kings who was well loved by God, but went into a battle that God did not send him into, in this battle he was killed.
So yes we are like children, well loved and watched over.

thats an awsome story isnt it incredible how, when God talks to you in that still small voice you undoubtedly know that he made a communication to you you cannot see it but you just know, it is unexplainable and retains no physical evidence.

People may doubt the existence of angels, but the Word is clear about the truth. There are heavenly beings assigned to Believers and they are waiting for us to give them assignments daily. Hebrews 1:14 says angels are "ministering" spirits sent to minister to the heirs of salvation. Who are the heirs of salvation? You and me! Angels are part of God's covenant promise of divine protection for those who believe in Him; however, it takes faith to activate angelic power in your life.

Psalm 103:20 says, "Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure." One of the keys to releasing angels in your life is to speak the Word of God. These powerful beings don't just move because you want them to. The Word says they hearken unto the voice of God's Word. That means until you speak the Word of God, they will not go to work on your behalf.

The Bible says in Psalm 91:11, 12, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Isn't it comforting to know God has made provision for your divine protection? It is part of your covenant right as a Christian. All you have to do is receive it by faith and begin commanding your angels on a daily basis.

In Daniel 3, God sent angels to rescue three young men from a fiery furnace—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—because they trusted God and refused to bow down to another god. As a result of their faith in God and His protection, the eyes of their persecutors were opened, and Daniel 3:28 says the king of the land had no choice but to acknowledge the God of Israel. Now that's power!

God sends angels to protect His servants. Here are some keys for you to activate angelic protection in your life:
1. Trust

Trust is a force of commitment. When you trust God no matter what is going on around you, you demonstrate your commitment to Him, even in the midst of challenging times. Trust will enable you to release your angels with confidence (Psalm 34:7).

2. Believe

God is committed to those who believe His Word (Luke 1:45, Matthew 18:10). You have to believe God will protect you and angels will carry out this aspect of your salvation at your command.

3. Serve God

Your service to God and His Kingdom provokes angelic protection (Psalm 91:11, AMP).

4. Pray

Jesus said God would have sent twelve legions of angels to His rescue had He prayed for them. Prayer will release angels on your behalf (Matthew 26:51—53).

5. The name of Jesus

Calling on the name of Jesus will secure the attention of all the angels of God. They will come to your rescue (Hebrews 1:6).

6. Command your angels

You have to command your angels and assign them before they can work for you. You command the assistance of angels when you speak the Word of God (Psalm 103:20).

Isn't it good to know you don't have to depend solely on your own ability to protect yourself? Get your angels involved in your protection and walk free from fear every day!

  1. “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him†(1 John 2:15).
  2. Many Christians have fallen in love with the world because they do not know about the realities of heaven.
  3. We are being observed by a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1).
    1. The cloud of witnesses includes people who are now in heaven.
    2. Our actions are being recorded.
  4. Infatuation with the world is dangerous because it distracts us from focusing on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2).
    1. If we are not focused on the Lord and His Word, we are also not focused on the will of God for our lives.
    2. Therefore, we should lay aside sin and the “weights†of this world and obey God’s Word.
  5. Heaven is mentioned 500 times in the Bible. Hell is mentioned even more than that.
  6. According to the Bible, there will be more people going to hell than heaven.
  7. The three types of heaven.
  8. The first heaven is the atmosphere surrounding the earth, which includes the elements (rain, snow, clouds, etc.) and the animals of the sky. (Isaiah 55:9, 10).
  9. The second heaven consists of the sun, moon, stars, planets, galaxies—outer space (Genesis 1:14-17).
  10. The third heaven is a place beyond the atmosphere and outer space. It is the dwelling place of God (2 Corinthians 12:2-4, Psalm 11:4).
    1. Paul concluded that this place was the third heaven, called “paradise.â€
    2. Heaven is an actual place that exists and operates in the spiritual realm.
    3. It is a planet that is round and larger than the earth (Hebrews 11:16).
    4. The earth is a replica of the third heaven (Hebrews 8:5, AMP).
      1. People have God-inspired ideas, then produce things on Earth, but the ideas and concepts come from heaven (James 1:17, AMP).
    5. Unlike the earth, which was defiled by sin, nothing can defile heaven (Revelation 21:27).
    6. God has prepared things for us in heaven (John 14:1-3).
  11. Where is heaven located?
  12. The direction of heaven is upward (Ephesians 4:9, 10, Acts 1:10, 11).
    1. Heaven is located in the north (Isaiah 14:12).
    2. However, because it is in the spiritual realm and is so far away, we can only get there by receiving a spiritual body.
    3. When we die, we receive a spiritual body, which transcends the physical realm.
  13. Reasons why heaven is so precious:
  14. Jesus, our Redeemer, is in heaven (Hebrews 9:24).
  15. Many of our loved ones are in heaven (Hebrews 12:23, AMP).
  16. Our resources for life (both spiritual and natural) originate in heaven (1 Peter 1:3-4).
  17. As Christians, we are citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20, AMP, John 3:3, 7).
  18. Our reward is in heaven (Matthew 5:12, Revelations 4:10).
  19. We have riches in heaven.
    1. Lay up treasures in heaven by investing in the lives of people and doing the work of the Kingdom of God on the earth (Matthew 6:19, 20, AMP, Luke 16:19-31, AMP).

Question: "What are the different types of angels?"

Answer:
Angels fall into two categories: the “unfallen†angels and the fallen angels. Unfallen angels are those who have remained holy throughout their existence and accordingly are called “holy angels†(Matthew 25:31). In Scripture, generally when angels are mentioned, it is the class of holy angels in view. By contrast, the fallen angels are those who have not maintained their holiness. Holy angels fall into special classes, and certain individuals are named and mentioned. Michael the archangel is likely the head of all the holy angels, and his name means “who is like unto God?†(Daniel 10:21; 12:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Jude 9; Revelation 12:7-10). Gabriel is one of the principal messengers of God, his name meaning “hero of God,†and was entrusted with important messages such as those delivered to Daniel (Daniel 8:16; 9:21), to Zacharias (Luke 1:18-19), and to Mary (Luke 1:26-38).

Most holy angels are not given names but are described only as “elect angels†(1 Timothy 5:21). The expressions “principalities†and “powers†seem to be used of all angels whether fallen or holy (Luke 21:26; Romans 8:38; Ephesians 1:21; 3:10; Colossians 1:16; 2:10, 15; 1 Peter 3:22). Some angels are designated as “cherubim,†which are living creatures who defend God’s holiness from any defilement of sin (Genesis 3:24; Exodus 25: 18, 20; Ezekiel 1:1-18). “Seraphim†are another class of angels mentioned only once in Scripture in Isaiah 6:2-7 and are described as having three pairs of wings. They apparently have the function of praising God, being God’s messengers to Earth, and are especially concerned with the holiness of God. Most of the references to holy angels in Scripture refer to their ministries which cover a wide field of achievement. They were present at creation, the giving of the Law, at the birth of Christ and at His resurrection, at the Ascension, and they will be present at the Rapture of the Church and the Second Coming of Christ.

In stark contrast to the company of holy angels, the fallen angels are also innumerable and are described as fallen from their first estate. Led by Satan, who was originally a holy angel, the fallen angels defected, rebelled against God, and became sinful in their nature and work. Fallen angels have been divided into two classes: those who are free and those who are bound. Of the fallen angels, Satan alone is given particular mention in the Bible. When Satan fell (John 8:44; Luke 10:18), he drew after him one third of the angels. Of those, some are reserved in chains awaiting judgment (1 Corinthians 6:3; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6), and the remainder are free and are the demons, or devils, to whom reference is constantly made throughout the New Testament (Mark 5:9, 15; Luke 8:30, 1 Timothy 4:1). They are Satan’s servants in all his undertakings and share his doom (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10).

The Kingdom of Heaven will reside in the final state of Heaven. I think that Heaven refers to a complex where the 'temple' mentioned in the book of Revelation will finally combined with a physical place called the 'New earth and New heaven". The 'temple' is a dwelling place of God. I assume that the new earth and new heaven is a physical place similar to our earth environment, but is absent of seas (or sea referred to by the Jews).

The Bible doesn't mention much about the current state of the New earth and New heaven. The 'temple' however is referred to as the 'Most Holy Place' of the heavenly Tabernacle which is not yet accessible to humans. The second curtain between the Most Holy Place and the Holy Place however is already open. The curtain represents the body of Christ for humans to go from the Holy Place to enter the Most Holy Place/God's temple/Heaven. It thus hints that the Holy Place and other parts of the heavenly Tabernacle are actually accessible to humans, even now. So the question is who are now accessing the Tabernacle. They are the chosen saints such as Moses and Elijah. They are currently in the third heaven or called Abraham's Bosom. It's a Paradise. Another place which can also be referred as 'Paradise' is located in Hades where Christians' souls are sleeping in Christ and with God. Paradise refers to a place where human souls are with God, either they are in a sleeping state (Christians) or in an awaken state (chosen saints).

Hades is a place (dimension) where our souls naturally reside. We will be able to perceive this dimension at the moment of our physical death. After death our soul (Christians or not) will naturally descend to Hades. This process is called "tasting death". Some saints such as Enoch and Elijah didn't go through this process. They (their souls) were directly carried to the third heaven/Abraham's Bosom. In Hades, Christians will be in a sleeping state but not the unbelievers. The unbelievers (wicked souls) will stay in the darkness waiting for the Judgment Day to come. This is so because God ever said the oath that "you can never enter my rest".

There's yet another darker part of Hades called the pit or the abyss where the fallen angels are supposed to be chained. Hades is more or less resembled a sea/ocean, where the deeper it is the darker it becomes.
