Thinking about buying a tablet

My wife's ipad hangs a lot, too. Or sometimes just slow. But it's older and not supported any longer (does not download past iOS9) so technically it can be a tad more "Microsoftish" with some security problems. The thing about apple products is they run a tight ship, and the functionality is great, and some say even the best. But... you have to dish out the $$$ and replace the hardware every so often otherwise the updating stops. That's the downside. Back in the college days of my kids, it was known that all the rich kids got the macs that worked all year long and everyone else suffered with issue after issue hourly and daily with the lesser expensive Microsofts. But even an old ipad does not slow up for the same reason Microsoft does and is still farrrrrr more secure. It's just being hit with newer software that it was not upgraded to work with.

The cost of software had much more to do with why I love Ubuntu. The best for free.

The closest thing right now would be to download Chrome, it's free and purchase an Android and Root is and install ubuntu onto it.
Oh, oh, oh, load Chrome because Chrome is stable and is, I believe, a stripped down Ubuntu. They did take Ubuntu and make Chrome by modifying it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A Wi-Fi Tablet - Octa Core - Android Marshmallow - Black - Includes 32GB MicroSD Card
This for under 300.00
A friend was here for a few days.. She has a 10 inch ipad... i know i can not go smaller.....

That would not be a bad choice; I almost bought one but opted for the Tab S (2.5 yr ago) instead mostly because of the OLED screen because I intended to use it a lot for Netflix.......

Tab S is a higher end version of the Tab; they are now on Tab S3. OLED 'organic light emitting diode' was, at the time, pretty much the best image you could get. The image was/still is incredible; I love my Tab S; the S3 is top of the line.....guessing $550-600......Mine cost $450 2/1/2 years ago......

If you have the funds that is not a bad choice.

I love my 6" Fire she will have issues with the fire, it does not have the splitting fingers zoom and just like me, we be old and can't see fine print.

The 7 inch I got does have that feature (the splitting fingers zoom) because I use it during my tutoring work :). There is the 10 inch which I would love to get the 10 inch someday.
