Or, maybe he wasn't wrong and we just have to understand how he viewed the "whole world" (think of a map of the globe with no North, Central, South America, no Russia, no China, missing most of Africa and all of Antarctica, and none of the Pacific, Atlantic, or Indian Ocean Islands.)

Think he could be right if we consider how he saw the "whole world?"

Yeah, I bet that's it.
The difficulty is if we say Paul was wrong, then what else in the Bible is wrong? We saw off the branch we are sitting on.

It’s really easier to say Paul was right, that was exactly what Jesus meant, and the end of that age came. It’s really a whole lot easier to accept the obvious…Occams razor.

True, but not out of anti-Christ sentiment, but rather out of a desire to be more inclusive. Also, dates were obviously kept long before Christ's birth, and long after without reference to him.

You say there is nothing common - yes there is. The BC/AD or BCE/CE calendar is now one that everyone has in common, whereas in the past, different civilizations had their own dates, which could even be based on nothing but the rulers of their countries. That was what Kepler was getting at.

Furthermore, the world has become a lot more interconnected in the CE age than in the BCE age.
That it was promoted by Jews is telling. It is now the world events calendar and the other calendars communicate no information. We, the christians, believe history turns on that pivotal point of Jesus coming.

Also The world was not common starting 1AD. It still isn’t. What’s in common? Not language or culture or form of government or money or standard of living… what is “common” that wasn’t in 2BC?
