highlights: About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"). Matthew 27:46

Women engage in painful and laborious effort during childbirth that is why we need to remember all travailing women in our prayers. Psalms 48:6 "Fear took hold upon them there, [and] pain, as of a woman in travail."

With travail there is pain and there are struggles, there is trial and there maybe tribulation. But travail is a positive thing that happens to people in pursuit of righteousness, freedom and Justice because after travail, good things happen and it's a child birth. "And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins [were] in her womb." Genesis 36:27

Are you currently facing a travailing situation in your spiritual life, business, health or even psychologically? In Exodus 18:8 "And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, [and] all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and [how] the LORD delivered them."

If you are travailing right now, do not give up, your child (reward) is on its way.

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." Psalms 34:19

Remember that "Creation may travail in pain but it cannot escape its destiny."

My advise for you is this; when you Travail in life, make sure you travail in righteousness and not for vain conceit. I will leave you with these two Bible verses to ponder on then we'll pray.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17

Let us Pray: Father Lord change my story to your glory. Strengthen me when I pass through difficult times and stay with me in good times. Please Lord, Do not forsake me in Jesus name. Amen.

I find it helpful to think about what it must have been like for Jesus' disciples Friday night: Jesus dead, hopes dashed, faith brutalized, confused, uncertain of what's next, nothing to which to return, fearful, the death of the Lord of life. Think Mary Magdelene.

Then I turn my attention to Sunday morning. When Mary hears her Lord say her name, everything changes in an instant.

In our life, through the hands of God, we have times of travail and times of joy. One day - upon leaving this world - I look forward to an eternal Sunday morning. Not a bad thought at all. :)

You remind me of one Sunday morning about 18 years ago, my dad passed on to meet with the Lord.

Hi Sweetvineshema and welcome to CF

Great post as God said we will go through trials and tribulations, but not fear for He is with us.

I'm going to move this over to Bible study as it is a better fit there

Hi, the line "Creation may travail in pain, but it cannot escape its destiny" seems to be universally taken on the internet to mean something wonderful resulting from painful work. But "not escaping a destiny" generally connotes escaping a bad destiny. So although I'm willing to receive the internet's consensus, I hope you can enlighten me as to the origin of this expression to see what was the original context. (It has made its way into being a cite in the Oxford Dictionary (without either the internet's or my ascription as to it having positive or negative connotation respectively).

The Holy Spirit leads us to Romans 8:22-32 to show that groaning is a life matter of everyone in the world. But with God on our sides we are more than conqueror.

Psalm 27:13 says, "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living". That's the destiny of those who travail in God through Christ Jesus.

Are you born again. Receive Jesus into your heart. Read what he has to tell you in the Bible. Pray to him always and love him by reading more and more about him. Then accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and surrender your life to do His will forever. ..

Everyone will travail but will end up in either good or bad. That's why God told us there is heaven and there's hell to remind us about destiny after all our toil on earth. But if you stay put in the love of God that sees your heart. He will help you out.

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12.

I plead with you read your bible. Subscribe to as many faith lifting words of God to learn from Him. Travail with Bible in your hands and stay clear of idolatry. Believe in God fully.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

What many are missing is the word "shall" in Matthew 24:13 as it's expressed as a future tense that indicates a promise.

For by grace, as it's only Gods favor extended to all who will receive it by faith, is a free gift as we become His workmanship created in Christ unto good works that God ordained that we should continue walking in the good works of Christ, Ephesians 2:8; Matthew 25:31-40. We can not earn our salvation by our own works nor do we even deserve Gods grace, Genesis 6:6-8. Only by a mustard seed of faith do we come to Christ and repent of our sins are we then only washed clean by the blood of Christ and become Spiritually reborn again (not saved) through the Spiritual rebirth of John 3:3-6 by that of Romans 10:9,10.

Matthew 24:13 says that those who endure until the end shall be saved. This means enduring all the trials and tribulations that this world will bring against us for the sake of our witness and testimony of Christ, Acts 14:22, Rev 2:10. The end means the end of our days here on this present earth when those in the grave and we who are still alive at His coming will then be caught up to Christ and are saved at that time as we have endured all things and never gave up our faith in Christ.

God's word never said we would not go through trials or tribulations, but through many trials and tribulations if we endure until the end then we will see the Kingdom of God, Acts 14:22, as we are all called into discipleship as we share our witness and testimony with those who have not yet repented and turned back to God. Below are twenty reasons why God allows us to go through trials and tribulations so that we will always remain in His will.

Why God allows us to go through trials and tribulations:
1. Training as God prepares us for the future
2. Patience as we rely and trust in God's timing
3. Perseverance through trials that we remain in Gods will
4. Trust as God's ways are not our ways and He has a better plan for us
5. To learn from our mistakes
6. To humble ourselves before Him
7. To discipline us
8. Teach us to be dependent on Him alone
9. To spend quiet time with God so He can speak to us
10. To teach us of His protection
11. That we also share in the sufferings of Christ that we be not ashamed
12. Strengthen us to become more like Christ
13. To develop character
14. Build up our faith in the Lord
15. For a testimony and witness to help others
16. To show us sin in our lives that we need to own up to having
17. To remind us that God is in control
18. Helps us gain knowledge and understanding God's word
19. Teaches us to be thankful
20. To take our mind off the things of the world and put them back on God

Satan's attacks are very real that can cause us to be sick, depressed and our anxiety levels can go through the roof. Satan will also put thoughts of suicide in our heads as he has done to me in the past. But, if we are seeking and growing our relationship with Christ we then learn to put on the whole armour of God as we stand against his devises, Ephesians 6:10-20.

God is an higher being who doesn't need mathematics to do His will. No situation of life either rain or storm or economy can stop Him. He says to us in
Deuteronomy 28:13 KJV And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

If we make Bible our friend no matter how little our understanding of the word of God. We will travail and God will not forsake us.

Remember the word Eli Eli Lama Sabatchtani meaning that God does not forsake His own.

Travail with God and make sure the HOLY BIBLE is in your hands and in your Heart always.

That's What David Did
That's What Mordecai Did
That's whaymt Abraham Did
That's What Moses Did
That's What Peter Did

Don't listen to gossips
Don't get advise from non believer
Get your advise from the BIBLE

Read the BIBLE no matter how hard or inconvenient it is. That's our inheritance from God.

I'm leaving the world with my Bible I my hands.

I have heard so many people who died and they were asked to go back and Bring their Bibles. .

Because BIBLE is very very very important. It's called the Sacred Book. Recognise the Bible. Hold it firm and open it and read it.

When you travail, give birth to WHAT THE WORD of God from the BIBLE.

Confirm it is from the BIBLE and enjoy life

I have heard so many people who died and they were asked to go back and Bring their Bibles.
Good thread, but what does this mean as people who have died can not come back and get their Bible.

Welcome to CF.net!

Interesting read.

I wonder: Is "travail" always a positive thing? I can think of instances where people are suffering, where they are laboring under difficulty, or grieving the loss of something that's dear to them, because they were apathetic, foolish, and sinful. There are many examples and warnings concerning this in the Bible.

Proverbs 7:21-23
21 With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.
22 All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast
23 till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.

Proverbs 10:8
8 ...a babbling fool will come to ruin.

Proverbs 11:27-29
27 ...evil comes to him who searches for it.

Proverbs 11:29
29 Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.

Proverbs 19:3
3 ...a man’s folly brings his way to ruin...

1 Samuel 2:9
9 ...the wicked ones are silenced in darkness...

And so on.

The "travail" of the wicked leads to darkness and ruin, not to the "birth" of "good things." Isn't it important, then, to make sure that the difficulties one is facing aren't of this sort, arising from one's own foolishness and sin? God makes no promises to the unrepentant wicked who are persisting in their wickedness except that His face will be turned against them (1 Peter 3:12), His ears will be closed to their prayers (Psalm 66:18; Isaiah 59:2) and their sin will bring them into death of various kinds (Romans 6:23; James 1:14-16; Galatians 6:7-8).

Also, when Jesus cried out "Eloi, eloi, lama sabacthani!" he was hanging on a cross, his back shredded into hamburger, his face beaten to a pulp, his hands and feet nailed to a cross. And then, he died and was buried. Being in God's will can be very extreme in the degree of the believer's "travail." In Nigeria, entire families of believers have their heads sawn off in the street, or they are burned to death in their homes or churches. In Iran, they are imprisoned or decapitated, or burned to death, too. This happens also in Pakistan, and Syria, and Egypt. There has never been a more dangerous time for Christians globally than the last century. For the Chinese Christian, then, who is strapped to an operating table, her vital organs about to be removed by a CCP surgeon and sold to a desperate billionaire, her "travail" isn't going to end in "good things" for her on this side of eternity.

This is true also for the North American Christian dying of cancer, or who's slowly expiring of congestive heart failure, or who is about to be shot in the head at school by a gun-wielding maniac. On this side of the grave, their "travail" will end in their death, not health, wealth and (temporal) happiness. What, then, can be said to them? What is their "reward" (aka "child that's on its way")?

Colossians 3:1-4
1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Good thread, but what does this mean as people who have died can not come back and get their Bible.
Yes Bible is the word of God. It's a sacred book that will illuminate your Spirit turning someone into enlightened being. When you are told to go bring your Bible, you are asked to go back and read what's in it and afterwards return with Salvation. Jesus is also the "The Word". In pun intended they are asking you to go and bring Salvation through Jesus. I think people who are asked such questions in their death to life experience are good people but are void of Salvation through Jesus Christ. That's why if you are reading this and you are not saved through Jesus Christ or you are not reading your Bible, you need to ask Jesus for mercy and acceptance into His fold. Following Him daily

The wicked are different breed. When Jesus says I am the way. He meant that He is the way that does not have bump or ditch. He gives light for you to see the road that leads to God. So no man comes to the Father but by Jesus: John 14:6. So what are the wicked doing? They are living and walking in darkness.

About those who died because of Jesus (Peace be upon them). The Lord has told us that in reality of persecution they were persecuted and will recieve their rewards in heaven. We should all be asking for Mercy everyday so that God in His infinite Mercy can spare us from the evil of this world through His mercy

What does this have to do with the question I asked?

This is what I am asking you is how could anyone who has literally died be able to come back and grab their Bible?

Most of them returned to life to testify about it. It's asking them to give their lives to Christ. The one I knew when I was young was an atheist comedian radio host who died and resurrected and told everyone that they asked him to go back and bring his Bible but I think he took it for joke. He released a comedy song and thought that's the end but He died after a week and some days. I have also read of recent YouTube comments of a guy who passed out and in His explanation died due to overdose and when He got there He was asked to go back and bring His Bible. He woke up and changed his ways and still alive.

I've heard of near death experiences, but none of them literally died being laid in a grave and then being resurrected in order to come to Jesus. You can't believe everything that is on YouTube.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

No one has ever ascended up to heaven.

Hi, the thread creation seems to be inadequate. I was informed there were replies to this query of mine; but all the posts seem to be only .......something and not relevant to my query about possible misuse of syntactical content. So is it true that no one knows where this quote came from?
