Understanding The Principles Of Deliverance
Seven steps towards a Spirit led walk
Introduction

I'm starting a series of discussions about understanding the principles of deliverance.

It's a step by step series that will touch on some principles that if applied, will lead towards a Spirit led walk.

Deliverance is an often a misunderstood subject that many avoid due to sensationalism and fear.

Hopefully we can have a good open discussion and provide answers to questions that lead some to getting relief from things they don't understand, and have nobody to talk to about.

Spiritual Attacks at Night
Mental Oppression
Emotional Bondage
Unhealthy Desires and Addictions
Uncontrolled Speech
Sexual Perversion
Occult Involvement
Fascination with False Religion
Chronic Sickness
Compulsive Behavior
Restlessness in Spiritual Environments (Irritated and anxious in worship or prayer service)
Self-Harm Urges (thoughts of suicide or cutting)
Hearing Voices (Intrusive thoughts; often immoral or evil)
Paranormal Experiences
Nightmares
Outbursts of rage and anger

Hopefully this can be a safe place for people to learn what the scriptures teach, and discuss things they have been through, as well as learn to break free and remain free.

Here in this verse Paul is quoting the prophet Joel:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 KJV

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:
for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. Joel 2:32 KJV

The word salvation (sōzō) is a very dynamic word which carries the meaning of save, heal, restore and deliver.
Strongs G4982

The name Jesus means salvation: healing salvation and deliverance.

The next post will be an overview of the discussions.

Remember: Deliverance is a process, not a one time event.

Deliverance is just a step towards discipleship; towards following Christ.

We follow Christ by being led by the Spirit.
  • For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14
We follow the One who is leading us.

When your thoughts, habits, or relationships remain out of alignment with the Word of God, those open doors act like a welcome mat for the enemy.

Deliverance is how we BECOME free.
Walking according to the Spirit is how we REMAIN free.

Be blessed, JLB
