I had a fellow approach me at my truck the other day. He told me that he'd noticed my bumper stickers -- a cross, a Bible verse quoting "Behold the Lion of Judah has conquered", and so on. He said he wanted to talk about God, and I told him that I'd be more than happy to talk about God with him. So we talked for a good 30 minutes, and he seemed to be absorbing a lot of what I was telling him... but it took a turn towards the end. He started talking about how he believes when Jesus returns again, it will be a man like one of us, who will show us that everything Jesus did can be accomplished by human beings, so that we can come up on His level and be like Him. He told me that he heard a voice tell him in his mind not too long ago that "Osiris" is coming, which is just another name for the second coming of Christ. He asked me about lay lines and other-dimensional beings. Things just got very wacky. I told him I appreciated his conversation and willingness to speak openly about Jesus, but his ideas about many things were very wrong. I asked him where he got his information, and he told me the Book of Enoch. I gave him a channel to get a hold of me so we could discuss things further, but I haven't heard back from him. I don't think he wanted to discuss much, I think he wanted Christian validation for his Antichrist beliefs, and he got none from me.
I have been pressing in towards God and, seemingly as a result, I've been coming across people with very wacked out spiritual beliefs. Just today another guy tried to speak with me about things, and with all conviction and prayer and with all the spiritual fortitude within me I tried to help him see clearly by Biblical standards, but these people have itching ears and have turned to fables, and I haven't been able to reach through to them. I just wonder what God is trying to show me in these encounters, besides the obvious, that an alarming number of people have been given over to delusion and fantasy and will not endure sound teaching. I feel powerless and hopeless on this. I preach it in spirit and in truth but they have that glazed over look in their eyes, no oil in their lamps is burning, they're just... gone.
