What is Sin?

I'm sad.
I sew, or at least I used to.
Made some mistakes.
This is not a sin.

VictorMedvil
A mechanic fails to properly install a caliper .the driver subsequently dies .

I guess that's not punishable .but it is .that's his point by taz even when we try hard and miss we still have make amends .

If I make that mistake and no one is harmed the shop owner eats the costs of fixing it not the driver .
Someone must pay for my mistake if I don't .

Hey All,
Wondering, I was having fun with words. I meant it as a fun little exercise. I apologize to you and anyone else I may have offended. Your sadness was never my intention.
Please don't be sad because of what I wrote. I admit that I am weird. I see humor in things others do not. Lastofall inspired the thought with his/her post. I quoted from where in his/her post I drew my inspiration. Then I showed examples so people would understand what I meant. I meant it to be fun but with serious undertones. How did that make you sad? Please help me understand?

None of those sin action (with the exception of the Pharisees not following Jesus) are actual sins. But each of them do have repercussions like actual sin.

You are a seamstress. So for sewing, missing a stitch is the sin. What happens if you discover it when you are almost finished. (This happened to my mom on an afghan she was knitting.) She had to stop and unravel her knitting back to where she found the mistake. ( Compare that to confession of sin, and repentance.) Then she had to knit the yarn again. (Make amends.) Then she was back on her way to completing the afghan, this time watchful that she was doing it correctly. (Walking the straight and narrow way.)

Do you understand now how missing a stitch in sewing (a mistake) can be compared to sin. (A spiritual mistake)

Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

Hi Taz
No need to apologize to anyone.
Guess your sense of humor is dryer than mine!

We have a couple of members here that believe it's possible to never sin.
I got a little worried that maybe you saw to much sin. Yes, we have those too, as I'm sure you know. They think everything is a sin.
I didn't think you believed this BTW.

Great point.

I sewed. I doubt I was a seamstress!
That sounds professional.
But the analogy is good.

I like to cook.
Does salt have anything to do with cooking/spirit?
