What should the #1 quality be that you look for in a pastor?

Openness and honesty in his feelings.

Walking the walk as much as he talks the talk.

If he comes off to me that he truly loves the Lord and teaches the true word of God literally. Also being humble.

Interesting. But what if he doesn't? Very few of us do. Even here, you read all sorts of great-sounding things (talking the talk) from members..... but all you have to do is read the history, or wait a few days, to see where the "talk" doesn't seem to last long sometimes

None of us really do. I expect any one of us, even pastors, to mess up. But I'm talking about a truly repentant pastor who will make no excuses for his sin, confess them, turn away from them and fight the good fight with all he has in him.

Integrity and humbleness of heart. One who is opened to discuss the word with you instead of telling you to just shut up and listen.
