What Time Is It?

I have changed a tire on one of those. cursed euros with those lug bolts. never got a good reason why those are still used. I hated changing those on the euros when a tractor tire on a tractor also uses lug bolts.
Oh, ye of little faith.

Let me check your math...

1" = 25.4mm, so 5/16" = 25.4/16*5 = 7.937mm, which rounds off to 7.94mm. You're off by 0.06mm, which is 0.001574". You're nowhere close to right.

it works, do I need to actually go and post a pic of that I know that works. yes the large by slightly of that will not round the nut or bolt most of the time.there may be slop in the method of manufacturing of bolts but I have seen wrench label 13mm strip a 13mm nut and then use a good high price wrench on that same nut and no problem.

Well... I gues 0.001 inches isn't too far off. In fact, that's probably closer than most wrenches that are supposed to be 5/16 inch.

hex shaped nuts its not that big, torx and reverse torx then it becomes and issue and aircraft nuts. sloppy wrenches are the problem was well. I have crapsmen(craftsman) wrenches that have that problem. ie the 13mm one stripping a 13mm nut. also keep in mind that line wrenches are the most exact. but they have poor turn radius as you have to line them up exactly with the position of the hex.
