Technically Incorrect: Sheriffs in Indiana say that a man was following his GPS too slavishly and drove his car onto a ramp leading to a demolished bridge.

This guy wasn't looking at the road at all, and his wife died because of it.

From the article:

However, a sheriff's office spokeswoman told the Times of Munster: "The Cline Avenue bridge is marked with numerous barricades including orange barrels and cones, large wood signs stating ROAD CLOSED with orange striped markings. There are concrete barricades across the road to further indicate the road is closed."


If this is true and there were concrete barricades across the road, how did the guy get past them without noticing them?

I have been on the Cline Freeway in Gary Indiana, my relatives live in East Chicago and Gary, I am trying to remember if I had seen that bridge or crossed it in my travels there. You have to get on Cline to enter and leave East Chicago, it is the only way out of there. The last time that I drove there and back was 2 summers ago, and I might again this summer.
