What's On The Menu For Thanksgiving?

So what's on the menu for Thanksgiving this year? I had no plans and wasn't invited anywhere to anyone's house so I wasn't even going to make a special dinner. I had even considered the thought of fasting on Thanksgiving for the Lord. But then a lady friend from church asked what I was doing and can we get together for thanksgiving dinner. So of course I said yes, come to my house. She said she wasn't terribly fond of turkey so would it be ok if we have steaks? I thought it ight be a wee bit presumptuous to tell me to feed her a steak on Thanksgiving, but I'm easy going so said yes fine...and she says ok, I'll stop by and drop off the steaks! I didn't see that coming, lol! Nice steaks too.

So on the menu:
Steaks garnished with onions & mushrooms.
Potatoes (haven't decided yet if mashed or baked, prolly mashed)
Stuffing
Green Beans
Egg Nog
Milk
Wine
coffee
Homemade Pumpkin Pie for dessert.

There's only two of us, so that's enough. I was actually invited to go to my Nieces house with my Brother in Columbus, but that's 135 miles each way and...she's not a very good cook. So I was going to pass on that. Then my lady friend called so that decided that. She's much prettier than my family is, lol. ;)

So what's on your menu this year?

And HAPPY THANKSGIVING Brothers & Sisters!! God Bless you all!!

Happy Thanksgiving! ?
I am from Norway and Thanksgiving is here too, but doesn't have the same tradition like in the US.
But I am this year invited to Thanksgiving. On the menu is:
Organic chicken with herbs, and wild rice. Baked vegetables and coconut based saus.

God bless you right back! :)

Thank you BrotherI think this lady friend of mine is testing me or something, lol. She asked what time to be here and I siad 4 to 6 should be fine but come at 4 and she can make the stuffing, earlier if she wants to help even more..lol. Long story short, I am doing all of the cooking! Since when does a woman not want to help cook?! So this must be some sort of girl test. Good thing I can cook, lol!

I saw such a funny video on youtube, The parents had stuff a raw Cornish game hen inside of the turkey they bought for Thanksgiving and it was their daughters job to ready the turkey to be baked...and she pulls out a Cornish game hen and freaked! Started saying she was pregnant when they killed her..(Uhh, what?!!!) But it was hilarious!

Hahaha. Send link if you know.
Who is this girl? A date? Only friends? What kind of relationship i mean? Hehe
Good you can cook yeah! I can a bit too.
I would ask her to come at a precise time and do all of the cooking myself...
Bu that's me
Not wrong with your suggestion i think. Nice sosial time too.
Women do like a gentleman. Just be that! :biggrin :biggrin

BTW. How exactly do you think she is testing you?
From mr curious..

Am I missing anything for my dinner? I don't think so, but I have time to go get something else and make it too. I have meat/potatoes/veggies/stuffing & desert. I think that's it, but if this girl is testing me somehow I don't want fail her little test for an oversight. So I'm open for suggestions, lol!

Not a date. Just friends. I know she likes me but she has not said anything overt. I've thought about asking her for a date but...I don't want to mess up the friendship trying to take it to another level. Just in case. Her best quality is that she is walking with the Lord. And very seriously. I have a lot of respect for her and fear of the Lord. It shows on her. She is very serious in her walk.

I would like to date her and her body language says she likes me, but when I have flirted a little subtly with her it's as if she doesn't notice it. And of course she does, she just don't respond to it. And there's a fine line between being playfully flirttatious and going too far and offending her. So I'm playing it safe for now and praying about it.

It's kinf a drag for me because I've had all of my drives and desires packed away for some time now and not looking for another potential spouse. But somehow she got it all unpacked for me again, and that makes it rough on me.

See the thing is, is a few years back I was missing a lady in my life. I miss being married. So I prayed pretty hard about it, and the Lord was silent. But Lord, it is not good for man to be alone...whoever finds a wife finds favor of the Lord, and so forth...and He has been silent about it to me. So I am being patient and it hasn't bothered me again, until now.
And it just so happens, that...she just happens to be my preference with women. Her build and hair color and all that, plus she walks with the Lord. So if the Lord was going to answer my prayer for me, this type girl would likely be the type girl that He sent to me. So I dunno right now.

She has a sensitive spirit and...I think she is easily offended. And maybe it's all in my head these things about her? And I don't want to cross any lines that I can not uncross again, ya know?

Since we are living with a friend of ours till we find our own place none of us like turkey so it's ham covered in cloves and peach juice, mashed sweet potatoes with a pecan crumb topping, string bean with mushroom soup and for desert peach cobbler because I can not make pie crust for pumpkin pies. It smells good in the kitchen.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Gobble Gobble, LOL.
