Ecconomic goes into needs such as food, shelter, resources, labour, entertainment/recreation, medical, and maintenence.

So people wanting to take part in the ecconomy needs to provide anf/or consume the above.

Food, shelter, natural resources, manufacturing and labor. These are the things that bring new wealth into the society. Newly grown fruits and vegetables enter the economy as new wealth with a monetary value. The tree in the forest becomes a house. The tree as monetary value enters the cycle as new wealth when it is cut down. Labor continues to bring added value to this tree, as it is transported, as it is milled, and as it is made into a structure. Taxing the things that create new wealth pay against the debt.

But we do not have that type of capitalism anymore, one based on real capital. That was back when we were more of an agrarian society, when agriculture and manufacturing comprised over 80% of the nations GDP. And government and service sector jobs, like teachers, and medical and banking comprised less than 20% of the GDP. Service sector jobs don't create real new wealth. With service sector jobs salaries often payed for by tax dollars, taxing their income provides no real relief in paying down the debt.

The dollar was once upon a time backed by gold. Now it is backed by what, the good faith and credit of the American people? The strength of the dollar changes daily against other currencies, how does that happen.

Perhaps if the dollar and the other currencies were based something real. Gold was a finite resource held by few. But as you said, to take part in the economy, one must consume. That is a common characteristic for all of mankind, we need to eat. What if the dollar, and the pound, or the yen were all valued based on a bushel of wheat, or a bushel of corn? A natural resource grown and consumed across the globe.

It's a complicated answer. Politic8ans tend to be stable financially and earn connections while serving. It's also a situation of are they socialist or social democrat? One wants to abolish capitalism, the other just wants capitalism with regulations.

I just folow the evidence and look at countries with those ideaologies. Look at Venezuela, everyones broke and miserable. Look at Brazil, thats left wing nationalism and social democracy and everyone's broke and miserable and its unsafe. Everyone's in survival mode and do what they need to do to survive.

It always ends up with survival mode for 99% when it comes to socialism while the 1% enjoy there lobster and ribeye fillet steak in gated communities. Its hunger games.

Your not going to walk down the city in Rio de Janiero with a nice gold watch on. I would seriously say a and guess about 30 seconds to 1 minute your robbed and if you get mercy your lucky.

Well if the U.S. doesn't start to cut all unnecessary spending we're never going to pay it off while Americans will be slaves to paying taxes. It's already out of control. We need basic services, toss out the rest of the spending.

Hi MayGodHeal

Look, being out of debt is not the goal. Every industrialized nation, and even most that aren't, have debt. It's just a part of life today. However, I do believe that we need to cut it back to a more manageable level of GDP (which is how most nations measure their debt). And yes, for as long as the nation endures, Americans will always be 'slave' to paying taxes. It's how governments pay their employees and contractors.

So, 'never going to pay it off' isn't even a near likely scenario.

God bless,
Ted

miamited we freed the African Americans from slavery. I think we can do better than just being slaves to a corrupted system. Our forefathers fought to keep Americans from paying taxes.

Paying taxes for basic services is ok. But beyond that it's just stealing the money you worked for.

jasonc yes in current society when inflation is still not dealt with the cost of living is unaffordable its not like the 50s and 60s where we actually had the opportunity to make a living. Now we pray our vehicles make it through another year as the cost of new vehicles is too costly and you don't have the money for one.

I have a hobby of photographing mcm houses . My wife's second home is one that her dad got for three grand .it still stands .

Kinda hard not to .

Who has the money for cash for a decent car or a house ?

I don't think its hard for people to get into there own home even they probably need mortgage debt, but thats not necessarily bad debt.

I mean some finish there studies and work and stay live with there parents for a few more years until they got a deposit. I don't think Parents care too much living at home for a few more years if there child is putting in the effort to work and save for a home. They in there own home by 21.

Most young people want out quick. Can't wait to get out of home, think the world is easy go rent a house with there buddies.
