The bodily return of our Lord Jesus is given in Zechariah 14, a Book of the Minor Prophets in the Old Testamnt. Without covering it you will be subject to many false doctrines of men about where our Lord Jesus returns to, and where the gathering of the saints to Him is going to be. So this Scripture is about Christ's second and only other coming back to this earth where He ascended to Heaven from.

Zech 14:1-9
1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

The "day of the LORD" is when both Apostles Paul and Peter said when Christ's coming will be (1 Thess.5; 2 Peter 3). When it does come, that's when our Lord Jesus is going to sieze the spoil His enemies have stolen from His people. That includes the idea of literal wealth and lands.

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

God is bringing all nations together for the end upon Jerusalem, and they are to take control of it. The houses rifled, and the women ravished must be understood according to our Lord's prophecies for Jerusalem in the last days, many which come from the Books of Daniel and Revelation. Per those prophecies, we know a system of false worship setup by the another beast of Rev.13 is to be established there. Per Rev.11:1-2 the Gentiles will tread the outer courts, a mark of Jerusalem's possession and control by Christ's enemies for the end.

3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

On the 7th trumpet sounding is when we're told Christ will come (Rev.11:15; 1 Cor.15 with the "last trump"). This is the time of Luke 21:20-22 when our Lord warned His servants to get out of Judea, and those in the countries to not enter in, for it will be our Lord's days of vengeance upon that area, fulfilling of the last part of Isaiah 61:2 He did not read at His first coming.

4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Per Acts 1, our Lord Jesus ascended to Heaven from that same Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. And His disciples were told there He would return in like manner. When His feet touch down upon that Mount of Olives, it will form a great valley there, splitting that area in two, moving part of it to the nother, and the other half to the south. That will form a "very great valley" there running from east to west.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with Thee.

Our gathering to Christ at that time involves our being changed to incorruptible bodies like Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 15 concerning those in Christ on earth that remain, while being joined with the asleep saints Paul said Jesus will bring with Him in 1 Thessalonians 4. Our fleeing will be TO that "great valley" in the area of Jerusalem. This is on the earth by the way.

Notice that great valley of the mountians is to reach to Azal. There is no known place called Azal today, nor per Bible history. That Azal is associated with Christ's Salvation there.

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

Paul said Christ will come to destroy the false one with the brightness of His coming (2 Thess.2). Our Lord also said His coming would be like the lightning shining from the east to the west (Matt.24). That day will unmistakeable to all.

8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

What are these "living waters" that will go out from Jerusalem afterwards? The "former sea" is about the eastern sea, the Dead Sea which is located east of Jerusalem. The "hinder sea" is the Mediterranean Sea west of Jerusalem. That should explain why that great valley running east to west is going to be formed there at Christ's return. It's part of the manifesting of the River of the waters of life. Ezekiel 47 gives a detailed picture of how these waters come down from the south side of the altar from the house (sanctuary of Ezekiel) in Jerusalem, and flows out to the east to the Dead Sea, and shows wherever that River flows the other waters will be healed.

9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His name one.

In that day, people will cast their idols away. There will not be a multitude of different religions, nor the worship of many gods. The LORD only will be worshipped in that day.

10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

Geba is just north of Jerusalem, and Rimmon is south of Jerusalem. It's a fairly huge area in all. That area will be turned into a flat plain. Obviously that has not happened yet today, for that area is hilly, and the Mount of Olives still stands today as it was at Christ's first coming. That whole area will rise ("be lifted up"). But why?

Our LORD already pointed us to the living waters of life in the previous verses, linking the events of Ezekiel 40-47 with it, so we're supposed to be able to have the intelligence to go to those Ezekiel chapters and discover more detail about this area of Jerusalem being turned into a plain and being lifted up. It's because the Milennium Sanctuary foretold of in Ezekiel 40 through 47 is going to be in that place. Even its dimensions are given in those Ezekiel chapters.

11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.

Obviously at this point, one should realize this state of Jerusalem here is different than how Jerusalem is manifested on earth today, including end time Jerusalem when Christ's enemies will sieze it. Nor can this Jerusalem in Zechariah 14 be up in the clouds off the earth, because why would our Lord need to create that great valley in the first place. This is on earth, AFTER our Lord has caused some earth changes in today's area of Jerusalem. From this point for ever when Christ does this, Jerusalem will be inhabited safety forever by Him and His saints. THIS is the "camp of the saints" and "beloved city" mentioned in Revelation 20:9. And it's on earth where Christ will reign over the nations from with His elect kings and priests.

12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

This plague is how the armies that will come up against Jerusalem will be destroyed, and all the spoilers who took Jerusalem and desolated it with them (Ezek.38-39; Luke 21:20-22). That event is about our Lord's cup of wrath poured out upon the wicked at His coming. It links with the 6th and 7th vials of Rev.16.

13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

A remnant of the house of Judah at Jerusalem will fight at Jerusalem, hinting to just before the battle of Armageddon which our Lord fights with His angels when He comes. The spoil of Christ's enemies will be taken. Those of the nations against Christ will be left with nothing.

15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.

In Rev.16, hailstones weighing a talent (70 to 120 lbs.) are to come upon Satan's host to end this world. That is also the destruction of the northern army of Ezekiel 38 and 39 which comes upon Israel on the last day of this world.

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

All the nations that remain after that event will be required to go up to Jerusalem and worship The LORD of hosts, the King, our Lord Jesus Christ, and keep the feast of tabernacles. Note that Egypt is listed as still existing in that time. At the end of Isaiah 19, we're told there's to be a highway running from Egypt to Assyria, and that Egypt, Assyria, and Israel will each be a third in Christ's Kingdom on earth. This should be very clear that Christ's future reign will be a literal reign upon this earth.

20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

With this verse an "altar" is mentioned in Jerusalem once again. Ezekiel 40 through 48 is about this "LORD's house". It's the Milennium Sanctuary in Jerusalem. That's where that altar is going to be manifested with The LORD there.

21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
(KJV)

"Judah" is put for Judea here, meaning the province of Judea in the southern portion of Israel's original inheritances of the land. Ezekiel 47-48 reveals the 12 tribes of Israel being re-established in the holy lands back to their original inheritences at that point of time.

What's this sacrifice here? Since our Lord Jesus became the one and final perfect sacrifice for all time, these mean our love and worship of Him in that time.

In that day also, the Canaanite will no longer be in the house of The LORD. That applies to the Milennium Sanctuary here as God's House in that time. Until Christ comes to establish this, our Churches represent Beth-el, meaning the House of God. How many are aware of the "crept in unawares" Message in the Book of Jude? Throughout history of this world, Satan's servants have ever been trying to creep into the House of God. Ezekiel 8 serves as one example of many in God's Word of how successful they've been at times.

A true Christian today should also see that false working in many Churches today, with the attempts to bring pagan belief and worship into the House of God. And no marvel there are many so-called ministers in today's Churches that are supporting that. They won't be in the House of The LORD of hosts as written here in Zechariah 14 after Christ returns.

The "synagogue of Satan", along with some of God's people that are deceived who support them.

But when the coming tribulation begins, even that possession will change, when the pseudo Christ our Lord Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 comes there.
