The Parable of the Weeds
Mat 13:24
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
Mat 13:25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. -
The Parable of the Weeds Explained
Mat 13:37
He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed (G4690 = sperma) is the Son of Man.
Mat 13:38 The field is the world, the good seeds (G4690 = sperma) are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
Mat 13:39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil . . .

Okay, so Jesus sows the good "sperma" or the sons of the Kingdom. But it seems the Devil sows everybody else. Notice only the Sons of the Kingdom are called "sperma." The rest are simply called Tares.

So, did God only plan for the "sperma" and all the rest are the result of Satan's working lust in humans?
Are these "sperma" the ones Jesus talks about when He says thing like:
Joh 17:2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
Joh 17:9 "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.
Joh 10:26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Joh 8:47 He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God."
Make sure you do not miss the cause and effect Jesus is talking about.
cause = you are not of God
effect = you do not hear
Jesus is not saying you are not of God because you do not hear, as if they could become of God if they simply started hearing.

But it seems the Devil sows everybody else.

There's a Satan seed theory you can research, could he be your great great grand pappy?

New meaning to

no?

its not a common belief, used to be a website, gone but somewhat available

And there's youtube videos if that's your thing, I've not watched, too long

Let us know what you find

I won't bother watching that stuff. I'm not thinking of actual serpent seed. They are fully human. I'm probably taking the parable too far. I'm kind of thinking that the "sons of the kingdom" are those God actually planned for (vessels of mercy), and the tares are those simply born "by chance" but still in God's providence are born, and are the (vessels of wrath.)

I'm probably taking the parable too far.

You realize the context here is to discern good and evil?

Don't let common thinking keep you from turning over rocks in your path, might be foolish, might be enlightening, might be discovery, might be narrow thinking

That's deceive, beguile is its own thing

From a Calvinist perspective, the parable of the weeds (tares) elucidates God's sovereignty over the destiny of individuals, as discussed in John Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion.

In Matthew 13:24-39, Jesus describes the kingdom of heaven as a field where good seed (sons of the kingdom) and tares (sons of the wicked one) are sown. The good seed represents those chosen by God, while the tares symbolize those influenced by the devil.

Calvin teaches that God, represented by the Son of Man, sows the good seed, indicating His divine election of the righteous. Conversely, the devil, as the enemy, sows the tares, reflecting the influence of sin and wickedness in the world.

The distinction between the "sperma" (sons of the kingdom) and the tares underscores God's predestined plan for salvation. Those who belong to God, as His sheep, hear His voice and follow Him, while those who are not of God do not hear.

This parable emphasizes God's sovereign election and the spiritual condition of individuals predetermined by His divine will.

Maybe you should first watch a video before you suggest that we should watch it , that way you will be our first line of defense against something that does not need to be on a Christian forum .
That's not too much to ask is it ?

You do realize I've been plenty vocal on what I don't think should be here and it doesn't go over to well, right?

And so you don't ask I mean all the rules that IMO fall before an alter of political correctness, what do you think, that just made it in under the line huh?

Imagine, if the apostles had followed the rules, or Jesus even, we'd have no religion to discuss.

Give me large black marker to strike out the existing rules and a small pencil to add a couple new ones and I'll be happy to take the job :salute

To answer more direct, my preference is reading vs video watching, I find it much faster and easier to digest/assimilate, plus a lot of video content creators just don't suit me.

Rules seem to be a sore point with you today . But notice I did not say anything about rules in what I said to you and here it is again just for the record .

I was speaking to your Christian sensibilities in action , nothing more nothing less . What if I watched that hour and half video and went to sleep and fell out of my chair and died !

I guess I was looking at the word "sow." God sows only good seed: "a man who sowed good seed in his field" only good seed results in Sons of the Kingdom. God doesn't sow the bad seed or tares. So where did they come from?
