The debate rages over whether “the rock” on which Christ will build His church is Peter, or Peter’s confession that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God” (Matthew 16:16). In all honesty, there is no way for us to be 100% sure which view is correct. The grammatical construction allows for either view.
...
The Roman Catholic Church uses the argument that Peter is the rock to which Jesus referred as evidence that it is the one true church. As we have seen, Peter’s being the rock is not the only valid interpretation of this verse. Even if Peter is the rock in Matthew 16:18, this is meaningless in giving the Roman Catholic Church any authority. Scripture nowhere records Peter being in Rome. Scripture nowhere describes Peter as being supreme over the other apostles. The New Testament does not describe Peter as being the “all authoritative leader” of the early Christian church. Peter was not the first pope, and Peter did not start the Roman Catholic Church. The origin of the Catholic Church is not in the teachings of Peter or any other apostle. If Peter truly was the founder of the Roman Catholic Church, it would be in full agreement with what Peter taught (Acts chapter 2, 1 Peter, 2 Peter).

Aside: Very good way to take control/power over millions of people ... not that anyone would want to do that .... not that that is relevant (possibly) :chin

so you are going to leave it all to peter to do the work while you do what?

read all those verses you attribute peter - see how peter was not mentioned in any of them - believers/disciples were - are you a believer/disciple? - if not then what are you? - where are you mentioned in scripture?
Christians are required to pray and give a good example

Believer is not enough
A believer is only a catechumen and not a Christian

How do you govern the church and administer the kingdom with a confession?

How do you give jurisdictional authority to a confession?

How do you give a confession the power to bind and loose?

also have to explain
Isa 22:21-22
Matt 16:18
Matt 28:19
Jn 20:21-23
Eph 2:20
Matt 23

God always establishes order in the obedience to hierarchical authority!

Matt 23 the successors of Moses had the keys of authority (open and shut) and the power to bind and loose in the seat or chair of Moses (also called a cathedral) and Christ says they MUST be obeyed!
Taken from them matt 21:43 given to Peter matt 16:18 and the apostles Matt 18:18 Jn 20:21-23 eph 2:20

Matthew 5:14-16
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Mt 16:18 Peter received the keys of the kingdom: (jurisdictional authority of the universal church) and the power to bind and loose:

Lk 22:32
Jesus prays for Peter:

Matt 17:27 Jesus and peter are one

Jn 21:17
Peter commanded to Feed my sheep:

Isa 2221-22 prime minister called father!
Holding the keys of the kingdom under the king Lk 1:32-33 in the line of david!
Matt 16:18

Christ founded the church on Peter!
And the apostles!
Matt 16:18 eph 2:20 Jn 20:21-23

Matt 16:18 eph 2:20 Jn 20:21-23
God founded everything on Himself - the mountain size Rock - Psalm 62:6-8 - Ephesians 2:8-9

all believers are the priesthood serving God the same way the apostles did - 1 Peter 2:9 - Matthew 28:19-20

No the people are of the royal priesthood
1 pet 2:9 but it’s not the ministerial priesthood of Christ
And Christ is high priest so there must be low priests of the same ministering order!

1 Peter 2:9 and Matthew 28:19-20 say otherwise - read it in context - there were more than the apostles present at both speeches - he who has ears to hear let him hear means everyone in the hearing of those words -

(Matt. 16:13-18) does speak to the very foundation of the Church. And that foundation is always Jesus Christ.

But the belief that Peter demonstrated is that upon which Christ will build the Church.

When Christ first came, He came offering the Kingdom to Israel, for Israel. (Matt. 4:17) (Matt. 10:5-6) That was a different gospel message.

But, Jesus was rejected by Israel. And so He in turn turns away from Israel. (Matt. 12:31) (Matt. 12:46-50) His attention now will be upon His work on the Cross, and His future building of the Church. (Matt. 16:21)

Because Jesus turns away from Israel, the Gospel of the Kingdom, 'Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand', is no longer in play. Jesus Christ's future building of the Church would not be founded on the 'Gospel of the Kingdom'.

Thus another Gospel is necessary. That Gospel would center on the Person of Jesus Christ as to Who He is? Because He was rejected, the Church would be built upon the truth as to His Person. He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Matt. 16:18)

So, the Church of Jesus Christ is built upon that faith.
