James 1

[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

[13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when [it is finished,] bringeth forth death. (being tempted is not sin, but when the temptation is concieved, that is sin)

OK: 1 John 3:4 Defines sin in Inspirational Truth! 'Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also [THE LAW]: for sin [IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW].'

Here on down is my question for you. There is NO 'seperate' Sin with the breaking of the Royal Eternal Covenant of God in one point or another. To break one Commandment is to see Their COMPLETE ROYAL LAW Broken. (James 2:8-12)

We had all been condemned sinners from birth, until Christ was accepted. Rom. 8:1's Now Justification is applied. (not tomorrow, but right now at the present)

OK: Does Christ gain anything from anyone confessing sin for the publick to view? And I don't mean just claiming that I was a sinner such as the past/tense of 1 Cor. 6:9-11. Or as Paul saying that he was chief of sinners. What needs to be questioned in short is.. does it do satan good or Christ harm by comming out of the closet so to speak? Some even boast that they are saved Christians while even living IN OPEN DOCUMENTED SIN.

And, yes I realize that known sin will be brought to the front if it is presumptious or if one is saying 'I AM COMING OUT IN THE OPEN & LEAVING THE CLOSET IN BLANTANT BOLDNESS without ever even caring about the hurt to Christ or their very own. Matt. 10:26-27.

But that is not the ones of James 5:20 that I am asking of.. 'Let him know, that he which [converteth the sinner shall save a soul from death, AND SHALL HIDE A MULTITUDE OF SINS.]'

I think I know what your asking/addressing. But I am not completely sure. So I will respond in a direct way to your question, because I really think this is a good topic to explore.

Does it do satan good or Christ harm? Well, if you think about it, we cannot do any harm to Christ, but if your talking about the 'cause of Christ' then this question would be an oxymoron. We know that there are only two ways, His way or the 'other' way. So if it does satan 'good' then it would automatically do the cause of Christ harm, and if it does the cause of Christ harm then it would automatically do satan good.

As far as Christ 'gaining' anything, no He does not. He has nothing to gain. Is it a good thing to confess our sin 'openly'? Yes, when it is in the company of spiritual believers. If I know what it is that weighs down on you in temptation form, then I know how to 'help' you in that temptation. James knows the distinction between sin and temptation. He specifically speaks of confessing sin, not temptation. What he is getting at is that if the temptation has become sin, then obviously the person is having an issue with it that would be benefited from the help of others. If someone is constantly stumbling over a temptation, then those around who are not tempted in the same way, can help the one stumbling by being an 'extra set of eyes and ears'.

Indeed all sin is made 'level' by the perfect law of God. But temptations vary. And just because one is tempted by something does not mean the guy next to him will be tempted by the same thing. We view sin through its 'physical' form, and from its conception in temptation. We know that all sin is equal in its 'lawlessness', but not all temptation is equal in its force. God only allows temptation to come according to the one's ability to resist it. Since not all humans have the same ability, then not all are tempted the same way.

As humans we 'label' sin by the temptation that precedes it. It is our way of organization. Paul did it as well as Christ.

Mat 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.

Mat 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

Here Christ specifies certain 'parts' that lead to sin. If they were all the same, then He would not have compartmentalized them as He did. So yes, open confession of sin is a good thing for Christ's cause, and a confidential confession of temptations is not a bad thing if done among the spiritually like minded.

The sinner gains humilty

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble - James 4

If a public confession bring you to your knees then much is gained

(Sidenote...the colors font sizes and weight changes in your post make it MUCH harder to read....as does the bigger font.)

In the AA program, alcoholics who confess their sins before the crowd, know that they won't be judged, as one would in many churchs.

The alcoholic knows that he has been where those around him have been.

But those that judge don't have a thought to how their background from Gods viewpoint puts them in the same place as those they judge.

So, confess your unrighteousness to Him, unless you have those who can hear, and know, and thank the Lord, but for the Grace of God, they would be there to.
