Last night I met at church with a small group of folks to pray. The room had been prepared for Good Friday services with a large wooden cross constructed from railroad ties.

As I sat pondering the cross in front of me, my mind went to the beyond-imagination nature of God's plan of salvation.

Who'd of thunk....
an instrument of torture and death - the cross - would hold such beauty and hope.
that the creator of the universe would be born to a mother he created.
that the champion of our faith and holder of all-sufficient power to rescue is a slain lamb.
that people deserving only wrath and scorn should be chosen to be made children of God.
Wish I had a better way of expressing it than "beyond-imagination". Outlandish? Inscrutable? Unsearchable? Bizarre? Crazy? Fantastic?

Well said by both of you. His ways are beyond comprehension.

Romans 11 (NKJV)

"33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?”
35 “Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen."

Love that passage!
