Hi all, I've been stricken with what was bronchitis, and is now pneumonia. I was hospitalized Wednesday night and will be here some time. They say I have a very irregular rythum as well as elevated pulse.

The plan it to cure my pneumonia - and then give the heart time to get bettter. In a month or so, after the blood thinners work, they may put me under and 'restart' my heart to try to get it going right.


Please pray that I won't need the procedure!


I"m still, of couse, in the hospital, I expect to be here for maybe a week.
 
You're in my prayers, Pizza. Pneumonia is not fun :sick

Like reba said, be nice to the nurses... as well as to the doctors. And before you know it, you'll be comfortably at home :wave2
 
I sleep now. Feeling better. I may have some scary procdures ahead, maybe not. Sounds like they are gonna send me home soon, tho.

Not sure what they will say about me working,etc. Just wait and see. I hold to your prayers, and feel stronger knowing that strong believers are petitioning the Lord we all call upon in my name.

Pneumonia can sure knock a person down & out. So get as much rest now that you can.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better! Our Lord does indeed hear & answer prayers!
 
I am home, but not resting at all. Can't sleep. Doc will call in sleeping pills later today, had a long night of little sleep and I'm overtired and worried.

I need prayers, I wish I could find someone to come and sit with me for a day or two until I get to sleep. I feel so alone, and Im kinda scared. I looked so forward to coming home and sleeping, I am very let down that I can't sleep. Slept three times, no more than 1/2 or 45 mins each time.

I need prayers! Thanks all.
 
O Mark if i could i would bring ya a bowl of Chicken soup.. set with ya a bit... some prayer and remember whens about this place...
 
You continue in my prayers, Pizza . Rest is so important at this stage (well, at any stage). Have you tried warm milk, or a bowl of cereal with milk?

Another idea: arrange with someone very chatty to call & talk with you. How does this help towards sleep? After a bit, the listener starts to tune out the talker, and eventually, sleep beckons to the listener. Don't want to listen to someone 'chatty'? Then pick up a book that will put you to sleep; for me, I keep a particular boring biography (one that talks round & round about a time period in the person's life) as well as a certain geology textbook that is drier than dust. Some people find that NPR music & monotone talk puts them to sleep quickly.
 
Well, update - I spent money on a service, $17 per hour, and they sent a lady over part-time. She has been an angel to me - cleaned the house like a tornado, fixed meals, and sat and talked with me. She's been here on and off all week, but I gave her the weekend off.
That helped a lot.

I had a stress test yesterday (yes, as of last night, I have had three nights of good sleep) and did not like the stress test at all, they would not let me on the treadmill cause I'd meet my target rate too easily. So it was a chemical test. They took pictures of the chest/heart twice to look for blockages. Results back Wednesday.

As to sleep, I think it was the infection or something. I DID take an anti-anxiety pill thre nights in a row, and night before last, had to take a sleeping pill as well - but I slept and you cant heal wihtout sleep.

Maybe I started sleeping due to all the prayers? Maybe I started sleeping due to the meds? Maybe I stared sleeping cause the infections is being defeated? I don't know. But I do think prayer had something to do with it.

Doc says I'm off work next week too. He says to just rest and relax. Thanks for your prayers and comments here.

And Reba, I wish we WERE closer.

Lexy said to tell you that those numbers don't even include raising his children. Day care costs a small fortune.
 
Am really happy to read you're doing better, Pizza ! Sleep really is important for healing, so prayers will continue that you're able to continue to enjoy plenty of sleep.

Feeling better each day. I am beginning to believe the Lord is gonna leave me on this earth for some time longer... I know I have no promise of tomorrow, but I do feel a lot better.

Just wanna to outside. But doc thinks the 6000 pollen reading will mess up my weakened lungs. So, inside I sit.
I hate this. Guess I MUST be getting better, if sitting is bugging me this much.
