We are all called to some form of service or ministry, whether we make a career out of it or not. What is your ministry?

At the moment my ministry is serve the ladies who live in my dorm, as I am their resident director. Sometimes it is taxing, but sometimes it is rewarding.

I suppose my main ministry is to do powerpoint sermons for my dad who is a pastor. He sends me his outline, 25-27 slides later full of photos etc I e-mail it back to him.

God so gave me any knowledge of it and gave me a heart to learn. About 13 yrs ago didn't know how to turn on a computer, hated them (so slow) and didn't want to have anything to do with them. I moved to the US about 10 yrs ago discovered 'the screensavers' and 'call for help" on every day and slowly was entertained and engaged by them and slowly learned and slowly began to do the sermons.
God sent Patrick Norton to me (guy of screensavers) God gave me the ability it so isn't mine, and the heart to reach out and to try and make points relevant - praise be to God for opening up my stubborn mind to being used to help others (a lot of people apparently it has really helped/liked them).

It has really helped me as I have moved around a lot in the past 15 yrs and churches even more and having this ministry made me feel like I was doing something useful and just glad I had a ministry through everything.

I feel there is a lot of prodding in my life now from so many people to go on and learn more for the next step - animation etc? (straightforward powerpoint is a bit dated now). I suppose I need a electrical rod to poke me as I have no idea where to start! Or maybe it will slowly come to an end and there will be something else for me.

I like to cook as well and bring meals to anyone I know who I can help out. And to open my home for church activities and to entertain.

Mine is not much..... for it is something I am still not only working on talking, but living. As any believer, I stumble.

At the time I share mostly via the net through common sites such as myspace, livejournal, xanga, and the like.

Mine is enabling ministry. During 15 years of preaching I have found a lot of Christians who want to serve but don't know how, or who want to give but aren't aware of a need. People who would love to give their time to something worthwhile, but are still looking for that something.

At the same time, it seems like more and more of Christian ministry is for sale, or has become focused more on the ministry itself than on the individual it's supposed to serve. I want to create something that enables individuals to connect with individuals to God's glory.

I'm building a site called brotherslist.org - don't worry, this isn't spam because there's nothing for sale there! I would like your feedback and suggestions on how I can make it into a more useful tool.

Thanks,

Brad

:newbie Hi I am new here this is my first post! :) I have been preparing for my ministry for about ten years and I still don't really know what it is :crazy I have been writing a Diet Bible Study, I started out writing it for my foster daughter and me. I thought it would only take two or three weeks to write... Um no! :biglaugh ten years later here I am... Somebody mentioned before too much of the ministry if for sale, and I agree. I mean for me anyway, God gave me something for free, why would I charge for it :confused but of coarse like I said that doesn't pertain to everyone... The Bible does say pastors and such should eat from their labor.

But that's just it. I don't know how to go about sharing what God has given me. I would appreciate prayer for wisdom and patience (isn't 10 years long enough tantrum!) um as you can see I am not good at waiting on the Lord, I hate it... :crying

Well thanks for letting me post what I think my ministry might be... and now you are probably as confused as I am... :chin

The study I have been writing started out to be about overeating being idol worship and has turned into the obsession with dieting, counting calories, desiring beyond reason to be thin, to be Idol worship, also... trusting God and waiting for His timing, which I shared in the previous post I have such a hard time with. AND... positive thinking... And, about your spirit being so much more important (and eternal) than your body...

This is the problem... BIG PROBLEM... I am still overweight. How can I share what God has shown me when It doesn't look like it has helped me? But it has, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the trial of being overweight. The blessings I have enjoyed through the years of searching for an answer to my problem have filled my life with beauty, I am so grateful, God gave me the gift of being overweight. My weight problem brought me unimaginable joy, it brought me to my knees, It made me seek God, It made me see the beauty is my soul, the eternal part of me.

I have a 400 page diet Bible study that I know God wants me to share, but I don't know how...

Thank you so much for asking me that question, because I hadn't really asked myself what is holding me up. The thing that I know, that I know... is God has a plan for my life and I trust Him with it... most of the time :help

It sounds like you do have a pretty good grasp of what you want to do and how God may move to do it. Why not let him move in his time in this as well. I've heard stories of people who have had to wait 50 years before God finally gave them peace about something he inspired them to do. I can't give any advice about what to do next, but I can encourage you to trust God with the steps to come...when they come.

My ministry is an online ministry seeking to promote God's true word on the web :). We can use the any avenues of the web to do this.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link there, but I am seeking review from members, so here it is :) :

After 20 posts you can post a link in Websites and business plugs.

There's just no way we can review every site a new member comes in with and there are many as you may well imagine. After 20 posts we'll know a bit more about you. :)

Mine involves any situation or person God places before me. There are a ton of ministry opportunities right outside my door. I can't open my eyes from sleep without finding ministry opportunities.

Simply loving people the way Christ loved me! I fail at this so many times, but showing Christ's love to others is my passion.

Been a while since this thread has been used, so let me get 2011 off to a start here.

I had been for the past 7 years an urban missionary, what a blessing it has been to work with teens in the inner city and I will continue to do some. But God is calling me in a little bit of a different direction, and now I will begin studying this spring to be a youth pastor. Wow never really was much into school growing up, never went to high school or collage but I did get a GED.
It is amazing how God does things....

My husband and i are forming a praise and worshipteam, were ministering in 2 churches every sunday, beside that it is in my hart to just help around the church werever i can. Last but not least, taking care of the children God has entrusted me

Believe it or not I just saw this thread. I'd like to know if there is anyone still watching this thread and if so I'd like to know more about your ministry and/or outreach.

OK. I have FIG Electric. A group of electricians who go around and help churches and missionaries make their buildings acceptable to God.

I've seen where people go off and with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears put up something akin to a barn and call it a church... When most barns in America are more luxurious by far. We aim to fix that with appropriate lighting, security systems and whatever is needed. No one should ever get shocked by bad wiring in God's house. Unfortunately that's usually not the case. Country and city churches burn down for stupid reasons that we can fix...and we do so.

You can find us on Facebook and like us. A website is in the works but unpublished currently. We have upcoming projects if interested in joining up to help...journeyman electricians need help so they can accomplish more when on site. Pulling wire only requires a strong back and a weak mind.

Passports and visas are needed for many out of country projects but domestic ones simply need you and a great attitude.

My ministry is being salt and light at my job, where stress is high. I wake up and ask Jesus every day to help me reflect His grace and light wherever I go, so that they may glorify Him and know Who He Is. I remember that I am bought with a great price and don't belong to myself, so I try to honor Him in words, deeds and thoughts. Amongst my peers, I am the only Christian, so the same thing applies. I learned a long time ago that I can never reach anyone through theology or doctrine or debate, and so I try to be a living epistle.

I do "grocery store" and "gas pump" ministry, too. I love to bless people there, when the Spirit leads. And finally I use my Facebook to post devotions, Bible verses, hymns, and preaching videos. I am the only Bible a lot of my friends list ever reads. I take it seriously.
