I am awaiting to see if someone can show me scripture where Jesus ever "Freely" gave material needs such as clothing, food, money to the poor.Did you have a theological question or statement for discussion concerning this?
That is so true! But... did Peter really do nothing for it?Ok, I'll bite......He gave Peter the money to pay the taxes. That money didn't get in that fish all on it's own.
Ok, that's fine. But this is a forum for the debate and discussion of theology and apologetics. A request for scripture on a particular topic really doesn't fit here. I think this is a better fit and you will get a better response in the Focus on Scripture forum, so I'm moving it over there. I'll leave a notice here in A&T that will let people know where it has been moved to.I am awaiting to see if someone can show me scripture where Jesus ever "Freely" gave material needs such as clothing, food, money to the poor.
Thank you for asking
Actually it will be a debate once someone shows me where in the Bible Jesus ever Freely gave out material needs because there are none, yet they will argue that there is. But do as you will.Ok, that's fine. But this is a forum for the debate and discussion of theology and apologetics. A request for scripture on a particular topic really doesn't fit here. Jesus provided fish and bread for the multitudes who were hungry. They hadn't done anything to receive this blessing except be there receiving spiritual manna from Him.Actually it will be a debate once someone shows me where in the Bible Jesus ever Freely gave out material needs because there are none, yet they will argue that there is. Thank you Deborah13, this is what I was looking for and I appreciate you boldness to step out.Jesus provided fish and bread for the multitudes who were hungry. They hadn't done anything to receive this blessing except be there receiving spiritual manna from Him.
You do manage a good stretch.....Thank you Deborah13, this is what I was looking for and I appreciate you boldness to step out.
If we look at the feeding of the thousands we will see that Jesus did not freely feed them.
We must always use a fine toothed comb when reading the scriptures because there is not even one useless word. That is why most give up on the Bible because they just read the Words as a book and do not seek the hidden things that God has planted in there for those us to feed upon to grow.
If you read the story of the feedings, you will see that first they came to Christ, second they obeyed him and sat down at his feet, then ONLY after they received the spiritual meal that he served, he took up an offering of the little/all that they had, then he lifted them up to the Father as a thanksgiving offer for the spiritual meal they had just ate. Then the Father multiplied so that all who remained could be filled.
So in summary, we see them first come to Christ, humble themselves in obedience, receive the Word, take up an offering and give thanks to God. Jesus never went to the poor who did not receive him to give out material needs. First we must receive the spiritual in order for our material needs to be met.
Is someone taking your money, Gal?I am awaiting to see if someone can show me scripture where Jesus ever "Freely" gave material needs such as clothing, food, money to the poor.

Do you remember where it was that the disciples assumed Judas was going? Why would they assume that if it was not a customary thing for Jesus' group to give to the poor?

Jesus gave everything, even His life for those who had not and maybe never would come to him. What is a temporary belly filling compared to that?
I really don't understand where you are trying to go with this.
Certainly there should be something written to show Jesus going out an handing out blankets, clothes, food with out cost? You're making the assumption that everything Jesus did was recorded..........it was not.
John 21
25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
